Not sure I’ve ever found anything good. Found a gold necklace with stones set into it. Kept it until the new GF threw it out thinking it was an exes..

Aside from the afore mentioned Bush Bongo, I recently found something similar to this whilst doing some ground work around the back of my place…

Not worth anything but it cleaned-up quite nicely. Found an old brass weight in the same hole but haven’t given it the Time Team treatment yet.

At work, I used to find tools inside machinery from the hire centres. Usually Snap On stuff too. Found a few ratchets, spanners and allen keys…cheers!

My wallet, in the bathroom at a houseparty, 6 hours after I’d lost it in a nightclub.

Still haven’t managed to work out how that happened, but I was very happy.

    A sponge.

I wanted to wash my car, realised I didn’t have sponge, so set off for Halfords. Literally 10 yards from my house, lying in the middle of the road was a large, brand new, bright yellow, car washing sponge.

So I took it to the police station, no one claimed it and 6 months later it was mine home.

I just found a T25 torx bit in the door of my 06 Fiesta.
How it took 6 years to rattle loose & start rolling around inside the door trim, i don’t know.

Omega Seamaster. Found while night riding – mate got a flat, I slowed down to pull over, noticed something half buried in the mud, thanks very much!

In my defence I did go and talk to the local plod the next day. He advised me to keep it as it couldn’t be traced and if handed in would most likely be claimed by some friend of PC Unscrupulous. Also spoke to the local Omega dealer who confirmed you can’t trace ownership through serial number.

Maybe not the best, but pretty amazing –

An intact .303 bullet complete with rifling marks from the barrel. Found in the dunes at Yellocraigs.
The dunes were used for target practice by Bristol Beaufighters during WW2 so I guess it come from one os those.

Me and an ex used to while away hours and hours walking the tideline at various Westcountry beaches in the hope of finding washed up contraband.. specifically packages containing very expensive exotic illegal imports..
we never found anything though, and ironically, when the MSC Napoli ran aground we didn’t attend the free for all that saw people ‘finding’ brand new BMW motorcycles, Landrover parts and endless mountains of toothpaste and toilet rolls..

Not really found, but left in an attic to a new home we had just bought at auction, found a collection of early playboy mags from the 1960-70’s in our attic, all neatly wrapped up in yearly bundles and stacked away neatly.

Thinking about it, they are still up there 😯

A stash of crow bangers in a box (200+) which had been dumped with a pile of rubbish down a lane, had a great deal of fun letting them off!

A wallet stuffed with notes in a Spanish nightclub, I handed it in and it was claimed by a gorrila of a guy, who procceded to tell us how he was wanted in many differnet countries round the world, he then proceed to get our group of friends slaughtered on Sangria!

A ‘leopard skin’ g-string hanging on a branch in the hedgerow, with a hole cut in it for a ‘gentleman sausage’.

Actually, that wasn’t a great find.

Back in the day, it would have to be a hedgerow bongo stash

A parsons jack Russell. Me and a mate were cycling down an old train line late one night after a shift. The area is surrounded by farms and we thought we could see an escaped piglet running in front of us (it was dark). Chasing after it we realised it was a dog, my mate took him home and rang the RSPCA etc next day. To cut a long story short my mate ended up keeping him he’s a great dog 4 years later.

An unopened rather nice bottle of rum in a bush near my old flat. The used noddy over the top did put me off from imbibing it though 🙁

A divers knife in the sea at Seaford when I was about 8, I’ve still got it.

A live mortar round which brought out bomb disposal to blow it up along with a couple of others and a hand grenade they found while sweeping the area.

A shirt that was in a suitcase that some guys with big moustaches were going to blow up as part of a training film we were making. I grabbed it from them and told them there was no way they were blowing it up.

Not the best (definatley not the best!)

Found a VHS video in a layby at the start of our local 10 mile time trial (this was about 20 years ago). Friend took it home and later that week insisted I watch it.

So anticipating some hot sexual action film, I was disturbed to find it was a taping of the film ‘Wicked Lady’, which half way through was overtaped with a film of a man setting up his video camera, taking his trousers down, and me swiftly switching it off!

Bought a phone of Ebay once. He couldn’t figure out how to work it properly.

Apart from the video (of himself and the Mrs) which I found.

Thanked him for the video on his Ebay feedback 8)

I’m either eagle eyed or a jammy git with bad posture who looks at the floor a lot. My finds this year include…

several grams of white powder, quite a lot of skunk (three bags wrapped up in a £20 in one find!), several walletts/purses post theft with no money or cards but bus passes/driving licenses make sure they get back to their owners. A gun (though the police kept that), about £60 in cash so far, a spare wheel with brand new tyre for a citroen C3 (which my wife has), a memory card full of “compromising pictures” of a girl I know (friend of friend), a pile of stolen wood “arrived” in my garden (rough cut pine in 8ft lengths, about 20 of them), police advised since it was fly tipped on my land i could do what I wanted with it (i did check with the joiner up the road if he’d lost any..), a set of car keys, next to a nice Golf (which un-locked it).

I’m known for being a bit of a magpie and on most nights out I’ll collect at least £5 form the floor of bars!

Best find ever though was my uncles watch, which he gave me just before he died. I lost it in a moshpit at leeds festival. several hours later, Less than Jake got the whole crowd to sit down, and where I happened to sit, was my watch. I then lost it again the next year (weirdly at a less than jake gig) but only found a camera at that gig.

My mum lost her wedding ring on a walk in the lakes once. Several years later she walked the same route and five minutes in to the walk….. found it again.

Snorkelling in Zante, saw something deep down (probably 15ft or so) that looked like it might be worth investigating.

It turned out to be a rolled up wad of Drachma that was enough to pay for that night’s meal and beers for two of us.

Found an iPod crammed with music and signed by U2 in a pub in Sheffield. It kept me company for a couple of years and then I left it on a park bench in Hiroshima.

    A straw hat.

I’d been on a school trip (as a staff member!) to Normandie, and somewhere on the way back I caught what I suspect may have been a hybrid of swine flu and AIDS. After seeing all the youngun’s off the coach, I made my way back to my car in a daze only to discover a straw hat perched above the driver’s door.

A big block of hash (at least an ounce) sat on a folded £20 note at a music festival.

A harder thing to find was my way home that evening
