Looking at heading to Mallorca next May with the wife, but planning to get a couple of mountain bike rides in. Where are best locations for hire and rides? Google has not turned up anything concrete.

I did a couple of routes from port de soller which were pretty good. I forget the name of the place but hired bikes from the main place in town. I swapped the brakes around and took a shock pump etc with me to set it up.

The folk at https://www.tramuntanatours.com/ in Soller will tell you, and hire you a bike, and do a guided ride if you want.

Timely thread. Off to port de pollença tomorrow and was wondering if it’s worth renting an xc/trail bike. Anyone done any trails in that area? Looking at outdoor active and komoot etc and it seems there’s some but not sure what to expect. Any recommendations welcome.

Wasn’t much I found out in Port pollenca the stuff I had earmarked as possible trails was off limits thanks to high fences and private gates.

Loads round soller loads of good stuff. I never had a bike though as it also made great running.

Lots of bike hire in Port Pollenca, from BSO’s to nice Cube bikes.

I last hired a hybrid, Stevens brand. Swapped over the brakes and fitted SPD pedals.

Did the job just fine for a few days on tracks similar to the photograph above.

I installed app Maps de Espana.

Plenty of routes away from the coast into the centre parts of the island.

my pic above was taken on the track between Port de Pollenca and Cala Boquer, there are loads of similar gravelly routes in the area, kept us amused for a few days but the 40C heat last summer was a bit much..

Thanks, it’s looking quite cool this week with some rain so hopefully I won’t melt. I’m sure we’ll get some hybrids for one day to explore.
