I’m trying to choose between wall mounted and bench mounted stands at the moment – I don’t want a fold up one or one with legs because I’m trying to work within a small space.

Does any one have any experiences with either or both?

    What are the advantages/disadvantages?

Any recommendations for stands would be greatly appreciated. I’ve spotted a really cheap one on amazon BDS? Comes with a warranty…

We have a wall mounted one that we modified to fold out of the way with a TV wall bracket. Works a treat an alows the car to be put in the garage

I’ve got a wall mounted one, but with a twist. Sorry, but I can’t copy whole links on this tablet, but if you search “home mechanic wall mounted bike cycle repair stand” on ebay, the first one listed is the one I’ve got.
The twist is I’ve mounted the triangular bracket to an old fence post. This allows me to clamp the post into my bench vice, thereby being able to adjust the height for different jobs.
You could buy a second triangular thing and screw it to the wall outside for sunny day fettling.
It works really well as a stand, very steady and strong, the only disadvantage is it makes using the bench at the same time a bit tricky.

Thanks for the replies I definitely think wall mounted is the way to go – that TV stand idea is genius Tracey!!

lesshaste – that bears more than a passing resemblance to my Lidl special! Not a bad bit of kit TBH.
