    don’t you agree!?!

“Was getting caught part of your plan?”

    Bane – “of course!”

    OOOH I’ve got goose bumps.

He reminds me of my old MMA instructor. So cool.

Not sure if “badly” is “baddy” or “baldy”.

I thought he was pretty good, though “Yes, my plan was to get caught” Joker-style looked tired enough when Skyfall did it, never mind when Batman does it…

Never really got to shine in the fight scenes though did he? Bats looked like he had his jeans on too tight.

I think its the voice special effects that does it!

But i cant wait to see Javier Bardem in Skyfall. He was ace in No country for old men.

Bardem in skyfall is sporadically brilliant… Though, sadly, quite hard to not think “Bit like the joker” for a lot of it.

I don’t get films where a man dresses like a monosyllabic rubber bat to fight crime is going to make me pay 8 quid for the pleasure, and crime being a bloke with a jockstrap on his face.

Hannibal Lecter, there’s a baddy. Or Don Logan in Sexy Beast, there’s a baddy. Or the bad guys in The Wire – who were they again?

I thought he was a very average baddy in the film at least, worst fight scenes from a super hero movie ever.

I agree the fight final big brawl with police etc was beyond crap.

Its easy to find charm in the mentioned super villains; Hannibal lector is a good example of super villains, practically untouchable, uncatchable and unbelievable.
Villains like Anton Suggur; he’s the low life catchable under dog who’s given amazing lines and draws you in with his total luniscey.
+1 For the joker as well though.

Yeah, the last batman film failed to be good at the only thing it tried to be: a mindless action film. The fight scenes were just beyond awful. Watch it again with a load of shots lined up, drink every time someone throws a ridiculously telegraphed hook, or when a bad guy just refuses to shoot his gun for no reason. When you get out of hospital, watch Watchmen.

Also I didn’t really get why Bane (who grew up in some prison in durkadurkastan) sounded sort of like Sean Connery.

Anton Chigurh was an awesome bad guy – but cool? The joker, likewise – cool?

    …Agent Smith? “I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had…”

I loved the Dark Knight rises but thought the ending was horrifically formulaic.

    quite literally, yes very.

Bardem in skyfall is sporadically brilliant…

The problem I had with him was that he didn’t really live up to the preamble. “Ooh, he’s so evil” – “believe me, I know evil” – “oh no you don’t, not like this guy, he’s Evil Squared.”

When he turns up, he’s an interesting villain as they go, and very well played. But “evil”? I’ve dropped more evil farts than Raoul Silva.

Compare and contrast, say, Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. He’d have had electrodes on Silva’s plums before you could say “wait, didn’t I used to have fingernails?”

    Durkadurkastan! 😀

” I have three terrorists escaping down Baccalaccadacca street.”

now you’ve destroyed Banes credibility! and he does sound like Sean Connery! dammit!

He was good but TDKR was so overrated. And he was way too loud in the mix.

Yeah, Bardem was more amoral then evil wasn’t he… But scarier than Le Chiffre because of the unpredictability.

Dark Knight Returns, I dunno. I liked it, but it really is rotten in places. And not complicated places either, it’s not like Hollywood doesn’t know how to make fight scenes, but every time Batman throws a punch it’s like a fat drunk in a nightclub.

One thing I really liked was the Wayne/Bane approach to the bomb. “I can’t make this power plant, people’ll use it to make uberbombs” “This guy used the power plant to make bombs. What a dick! <CRACK> No uberbombs ever. Well, except this one, LOL”

The ending was many things but formulaic it was not. It was open to your own interpretation.

I disagree with the OP and the posts above merely prove it, Joker, Stansfield, agent smith, Bardem in NCFOM, all better

Heath Ledger was far far better as a “baddie” and his performance as The Joker was just brilliant. Tragic tragic loss of a very very talented actor.

I thought Tom Hardy did a good job but Bane as a character just isn’t as interesting as The Joker.
