Are there any disadvantages to Tenants in Common arrangements?

Joint and several liablity I'd have thought - either can be chased for rent etc.
If I recall correctly:
If you want to pass your "share" of the home on to somebody other than the other tenant after your death then you need Tenants in Common.
If you want the other tenant to assume ownership of all the home on your death then you want to be Joint Tenants.
Unless this is about Scottish beer on a public shared space, in which case, I'm ooot.
One major disadvantage is that the other owner might pass on their share to another person in their will. Of course this could be a advantage - it depends what you want.
It's not just about what happens on death. Joint Tenants have an equal share right from day 1 even if one puts in 1p and the other £1 million.
