Need something that provides quick home hits for core strength and arms for an aging mid life body. Used better man app for a while and liked it. But can’t justify the high cost.

any free or low cost equivalent recommendations?

You’d be better off buying a couple of kettlebells and doing kettlebell swings plus some traditional lifts like bent over rows and deadlifts. Calesthenics is great for arms/upper body, but not for ‘core’, which really means back, and more specifically spinal erectors – these are the muscles that keep your back straight. They’re also often the most neglected muscles in the body because everyone is so scared of injuring their backs that they don’t ever do any back exercise, and then one day they go to lift something off the floor and it goes “pop” because the spinal erectors have just gradually wasted away.

    As above.

Kettle bells and then search on instagram for kettle bell workout clips.

I follow a few people that give out free workouts.

Free version of “Home Workout”. I’ve done a couple of runs through their 4 week programme, no equipment needed and you can adjust how hard things are through the 4 weeks.

Lots of press up variations, core exercises, stretches etc.

Actually another good free workout app is the Nike NTC app

Lots of workouts and full programmes to follow on there
