    Evening all

We’ve recently had all of the double glazing units replaced in our house, the UPVC frames are the original it’s just the original glazing elements that have been replaced.

We’ve spotted that the foam in the inside of the windows does not meet in the corners on some of the windows, like this:

    Is this an issue?

Our glazer chap is returning on Monday to discuss a few other problems that we’ve identified with his work. Does he need to redo this foam?

He’ll say it’s fine, what say the experts on STW?

We have one window which original and the foam on that one meets in all of the corners.

    Ta in advance.

    Looks a bit pants.

Had the original rubber/foam deteriorated beyond use?

Looking at my windows 70mm uPVC, small continuous rubber exterior seal, tightly fitting. Then the 4/20/4 unit with another tight fitting rubber seal and an internal bead.

Are the replacement units the same width as the original ones?

If the foam was stuck to the glass prior to fitting the units I would expect a continuous seal all the way round.

The rubber seals on my windows fit into the uPVC profile.

Yep, foam stuck to the originals I think so would not be usable on the new units.

New units look to be the same dimensions as the originals.

Apart from looking a bit pants is this going to affect the performance of the windows?
