There have been various threads on this in the past covering the issue of android auto rebooting.

Solutions typically offered are clean the connections, get a new cable, go wireless. We have actually gone wireless in both cars using the Motorola MA1 and I’d say it’s great as long as you remember to keep an eye on the phone charging.

Anyway, to the weirdness. In the past I have never noticed a pattern. But in both our cars the android auto reboots on one section of road, every time I drive down it, in the same place and without fail.

How wierd is that. It is on open moorland and there are no overhead pilons. It happens here to me, just south of Blackburn https://maps.app.goo.gl/paw4ojJjx3a3q46x6

Android auto in my Ioniq has in the last week become unstable. Worked fine prior to the last update from Google play store. Now it fails to connect quickly via a previously working cable.

I blame the update. I’m sure a fix is coming soon?

Try another mapping app and drive past the pub to see if that crashes the android auto?

I once listened to a story about an old crt TV that caused interference with modern radio signals. Maybe someone near the location is using an old unshielded piece of gear that screws the reception in the area?

    Which vehicle/version/head unit?

There are issues with the T6.1 and Apple Car play.

My partner’s father had a Ford that would shut the engine down when he travelled along a specific section of the A1!

It happens in both cars, a 67 plate passat and a 69 plate golf.

I’d not be using Google maps there, at least not navigating, but it might be on the screen, but almost definitely Spotify

I changed my cable + had an update and my android auto is back working! Cable was the problem for me.

I think I’ll try and take a drive past the Toby inn tomorrow between cheap charging on the agile tariff.
