Hmmm dunno. Used to see Swizzels from the back windows of my house. You could smell what was being made when you were near too.

So as that was all a bit much, i’m going for:

Little Chef lollies, every day of the week.

Do they still exist? Wham bars (proper bloody sized ones!) if I can’t get a little chef lolly.

It’s from this century, so it’s going to be controversial, but these are fantastic:

Dobsons Fizz Bombs were very popular on Tyneside.  Not available nowadays, sadly.

Good old filling removers (and creators) some of these.

Anyway, cinnamon gobstoppers. Still find the smell of cinnamon is an instant memory flashback for me.

And showing my age, half penny chews.

I’m ordering some chewits and wham bars (which I had completely forgotten about) and I will share my findings.

Those white mice (not sure they are white chocolate) are vile. Them and the white buttons with sprinkles on them were about the only sweets I didn’t like as a child.

If I had to pick one I’d choose gold bears

The only sweets I actually disliked as a child were anything with coconut in (still don’t like Bountys) and turkish delight. Not hugely fond of Ferrero Rocher either.

Oh, I forgot another candidate for best sweet: cola bottles, but only the ones that are quite thin and floppy, but very nearly see-through, which you don’t seem to get these days now that Haribo have taken over the world. And a plus one for Wham bars, when they were A4 sized (as it seemed to me back then)

I love sweets!! From the archives of childhood I used to love Parma Violets, Foam Bananas and Curly Wurlys.

These days it’s gotta be Maoam Pinballs FTW.

I just knew some sick **** would say parma violets and then two of the psychopaths turn up at once!

    Beer bottles were my kryptonite.

I was always partial to a curly wurly or sherbert fountain but i seem to recall eating a lot of Catch chocolate bars.

edit: pineapple chunks were pretty good too

Not sure what the British version of these were, but remember these.

    Though the chocolate tasted shit.
