Hhhmmm, not the best selection of race goers, believe me when I say there are some fantastic sights! Was on the train this morning having a laugh with a group of women from the Wirral going to the races….they were classy, not a fake tan in sight and curves in the right places, great way to start the day.

save for court appearances, Ascot provides the people of liverpool with the only opportunity to get dressed up.

I go out the the Prix de L’arc every year (like ascot, but better) and the only people who tend to attract raised eyebrows are Brits who have travelled over for the weekend.

It’s ruined the flat season for me. Which is a shame, because the jumps are generally filled with country bumpkins who stare rather inappropriately at the horses’ legs, making grunting noises and comments such as “oooh, she’s a lovely beast”.
