a dislike of clutter.

anyone else have a total dislike, dare i say hatred of any clutter ?

my mrs says when my time is up, my possessions will fit in a medium sized suitcase.

i have a quarter of our full wall fitted wardrobe. with 3 medium drawers. this has everything in including shoes and coats.

bikewise, i have 2 now. tourer with 9 speed. gravel thing with 8 speed. i have one storage box with tubes and spares like cables and brake pads. both bikes run the same pads.

the wife is similar to me. we dont have loads of photos or orniments around the house. this would really do my head in if it were full of stuff like that.

all essential paper work of any importance is stored in a folder at the bottom of my wardrobe.

we dont do fancy jewels or watches.

if someone broke in to our house, they would be very very disappointed. dearest thing is the bed/matress.

i go through my clothes once a year and donate unworn stuff to charities.

clutter free.

I mean to and then never quite get around to it.

However one of my best birthday presents recently has been a massive tool chest so that I can organise my bike tools. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s been life changing, but it has made me much less stressed.

Yup, guilty. Obsessively ordered. I used to live on my own in a very minimalist apartment. Recently moved in with the girlfriend and her kids, wow! Honestly it’s incredibly difficult for my ocd mind to chill out and relax over the mess!

I have a lot of stuff, clothes, gym gear, bike stuff, but it all has a home. Out of sight.

+1 on both counts here. I pick my battles – not worth trying to tackle some of the clutter issues around the house. The garage, however, is my domain.

Garage has become a gardening dumping ground, which does my head in & I’m not allowed to go through the fridge & chuck out of date stuff out but yes if I were intolerant of it all I’d definitely be single by now. Wife is enjoying tidy house whilst we try & sell it, so there is hope 🤣

I dislike owning too much stuff, it gives me the fear. So I like to downsize and de-clutter as much as I can. I think it’s from a childhood spent packing and unpacking every 2 years as we followed my dad around various RAF postings, all my possessions had to fit inside a pretty small trunk.

I hate clutter/mess!

Unfortunatley, I’m also really lazy, hate tidying, don’t like throwing stuff away that I might need at some point…..

I hate myself everytime I go into my garage and look at my work bench.

i hate it, but annoyingly i hate waste. I really struggle to throw away things that might have use, even if not to me. I would much rather give away stuff than bin it, but that comes with its own problems. (Freecycle admin and all that nonsense)

Ive got 3 young kids, and “the Mrs” (the old ball and chain, ‘er in doors, oo err, etc) is by far the worst of them all.

cant wait till we can sack off our fleet of Prams, and Cots, and kids clothes and eugh.

I live alone. I do what I want. Keep what I want, chuck what I want. I’m always thinking there a lot of stuff around my front room, but my lady doesn’t mind when she visits. I do chuck a few pairs of shoes in the hallway and put some magazines in the drawer, but you know, who cares, live how you wanna live.

I’m the exact opposite. Minimalism and flat surfaces with nothing on them are the preserve of airports and hotels. Books and CDs are stacked on shelves everywhere, piled up next to the bed, all sorts. Clutter in the kitchen or garage pisses me off more, but they’re working spaces rather than living spaces.

I dislike clutter but I live in a small flat now so all the empty space is taken up. i.e. complete clutter or mess.

For many years my possession can fit into one travel suitcase as I travelled all over the place.  Yes, one suitcase.

However, when I started to settle down in the last 15 years or so, I also started to accumulate stuff.  Nothing expensive but practical or of my interest.  Imagine buying a wok, normal person would buy one wok and stop at that.  I buy 6 and counting. There can never be a perfect wok, LOL especially when cooking with electric cooker.  Same goes with other cooking utensils.

Also, I don’t have the time to de-clutter because everything is “useful”. LOL

Yeah, that’s pretty much me, too. Try and keep working surfaces clear, anything else is fair game. My wife’s even worse 🙂
