Can anyone tell me if I can fit a 9 speed cassette to a 7 speed hub? Its fairly old and getting a bit worn but seems pointless putting 7 speed stuff on when 9 speed stuff is so available!
Cheers

yes but the cones/axle will need re-spacing

Afraid not, cassette is too wide for the freehub body. As said above(sort of), you can change the freehub body for an 8/9sp if you're willing to mess with spacers and wheel dishing.

If take out one sprocket it'll go on. Obviously you'll only have 8 gears, but you can still use new shifters and stuff. Just as long as the hub takes a Hyperglide cassette (with a lockring, not a threaded top sprocket).
