Fancy a good, long (ish) walk this weekend, the weather looks good, the wife is away, so why not?

I like hills rather than flats so was thinking something from Carding Mill Valley or maybe around Clee Hill, though am not set on either.

So, any other suggestions? And if anyone has a GPX of the route then all the better.

    Thanks.

Hmm, just checked my usual go-to website for nice walk advice and they don’t cover your region, sorry. But for anyone in the south east I really rate this: https://fancyfreewalks.org

The Malvern Hills Long MTB route makes a really nice walk. It’s 19k, so just about what you ordered. You can download the GPX from here https://www.malvernhills.org.uk/visiting/cycling/mountain-bike-trails/

What about this. Carding Mill valley and up the Mynd and Caer Caradoc hill?

Park near Malvern Link and catch the train to Colwall. Walk from there to Eastnor Obelisk and then up onto Swinyard Hill from where you can walk the ridge over all the Malvern Hills back to Malvern Link. Do not miss the rock cakes at Sally’s Place when you come off British Camp. Finish at the Nag’s Head pub.

Start at the tram terminus on Licky road. Walk over Bilberry hill then follow the North Worcestershire path over Beacon hill to the Wasely country park. When you’ve done half the distance you want turn around but using alternative paths you’ll find on a map.

An alternative, the Dudley canals. Park at the Dudley Canal Trust, opposite the Black Country Museum, walk over the hill,(the only urban bit) then follow the Dudley Canal, arrive at Blowers Green, cafe there, then though Netherton Tunnel, torch required there, then back on the old Birmingham Main Line Canal to the Black Country Museum. Not quite 10 miles. Far more countryside than you would think, apart from the walk over the hill, you’d never know you were in the middle of the Black Country.

Not quite the midlands , but what about the Berwyns ?

Most of weekends you don’t see anyone past the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall.

You could easily make a 12 mile loop

@kayak23, that looks spot on, don’t suppose you have the GPX do you?

No worries at all @lunge. I’ve messaged you.
    Send me an email.

It’s not a route that I’ve done but I’m an OS Maps subscriber and I use it all the time to find walks and rides that other people have done in areas I’m unfamiliar with.

I just narrowed the parameters to the distance you wanted and it came up with loads of options in that area.
