Having recently gone from a ten year old bike to a Slackline I’m finding that I’m taking a lot more hits to the chainring. I’ve looked for bash guards but most seem to need ISGC mounts which I don’t have. Would the Superstar one linked below work with 1 x SLX? I presume I would just need longer chainring bolts but would it also muck up the chainline or does it mount on the outer side of the crank.
As you can probably tell I’m a bit confused.

I have one of those – you just mount it on the outside of the spider (longer bolts may be needed). I do have ISCG mounts on both bikes but I asked Keith @ Banshee about this vs a taco on the ISCG and he said the crank mounting is easier on the frame (more durable) and better at sliding rather than sticking if is bashed.

Many thanks Chief, I think I’ll dip my toe in.
