Blue skies here in leeds but a gusty wind blowing that would really put you off road riding.
Trying to rain here in London.
I've just done 4x laps of the Hilly route in the EVR race otherwise I would have joined you Weeksy.
Had jelly legs in that race, probably from yesterdays double bill of races. My usual race cadence is 85-92 rpm, today it was 69rpm and my heart rate maxed out at 188 versus the 205 yesterday. May be a rest day tomorrow then ๐

Cant make that one weeksy, looking at a later race if possible.
prob 6.00 SZR figure 8 for me - if I get organised in time
Weeksy i think i was watching you in the race, not sure how i managed to do that. Sent a couple of text to gee you on but not sure if you saw them. Have never really done the fan view before and to be honest it felt a bit stalkerish. If i was indeed watching you then it must have been a bore fest as there was really nobody around you.Early indications are you may have a trophy as other C riders ahead of you were well beyond the limits.
Well it wasn't the best race ever, it got totally blown apart really early on. Everyone was climbing at 5w+ and my lowly 4.3 can't cut the mustard. So for most of the race I was 30+s behind and 30s ahead of anyone else.
Got cramp in both calves on lap 3 climb so had to ease off the pace but didn't cost me anything in position.
Pootled to the finish.

I'm hopefully going to do a ride with a mate on Friday and then take a week off. My body seems to be asking for a rest.
Nice one weeksy!
I hate that course, I got cramp earlier - it's really done my legs in ๐
knackered again here ๐ Good race though. Figure 8 isn't for me really but at least the field was a bit bigger
Lost the lead group on the first time up the hill; tried to get back on after the crest but nobody came with me and I was hurting.
Decent ride round for a bit after that with only 3 of us (managed a bit of through and off - by accident in my case). I got away by about 20m trying to make a margin for the hill but then group 3 came steaming back to me so were about 8-10 of us. 3 more got away even with me at 5w/kg for a while ๐ฏ up the next hill. I rode the rest off my wheel though and nearly caught one of the next lot. Set a slightly better FTP, which is a new thing for me in a race.
Better, but still mid-B at my best. I did a workout called the wringer the other night; I think it's probably good race-prep for me
Nowt wrong with mid B mate, I dream of that still.
I may be a good C, but I'm a long way from a good B.
I'm not very competitive so it's about progress for me - it's good to have the better riders to act as a benchmark (even if it's variable between races). I reckon I can currently kick the shit out of "me" from any previous year of my life, so that's a plus
Funny though, what they say about attacking when it's hurting - true. I rode away a couple of times while wondering when they were going to do it to me as they seemed stronger.
I reckon I can currently kick the shit out of "me" from any previous year of my life
I think there's quite a few of us who've Zwifted who can say the same, which is brilliant. Looking at my local outdoor riding and if i go out and try, i come back with constant Strava PBs, it says to me that i'm faster than previously.
Anyone up for the KISS race at 9:30??
LOL you do realise we have jobs ๐
I dont think i will get back in time for that nathb, probably looking at one of the wbr races slightly later.
Losers with your jobs ๐
Got caught up so missed the 9:30 KISS race. I'm going to do the 11am one instead.
Wow, close battle and a win ! Top job son, top job ! 198bpm ! I'd be lying on the floor holding my chest !
Well done sir!
Thanks, that course is a killer!!
I ran out of gears on the sprint finish, 52-11 had me at a much higher rpm than I'd like to be at while sprinting out of the saddle!! So maybe need to alter my realism ever so slightly?
198? Bah still 7 more bpm in my tool box lol
I came 3rd on my screen, very close between me and second, looks like I got him in the end...First was a machine/his smart trainer was over reading. ๐
I agree , fitter on my bike than I've ever been, all down to a winter season on Zwift.
Was looking for something interesting for later..
Nothing really jumping out at me though sadly
Zwift race, 2 laps of London Loop at 3pm, maybe... but i'm pretty sure the results are never finalised on their races, so don't end up on the Zwift Power profile.... Apart from that... i'm not seeing anything for today.
Was thinking much the same weeksy. EVR Asia at 11am but a bit late for that now. Think I'll go play outdoors.
I'm planning on doing the PRS race today at 6pm if anyone wants to join?
Can't find it.
Ah..
That'll be because I was looking at tomorrow ๐
3pm race it is!
Doesn't go on your ZP results though don't forget
Probably a good thing today, legs are still aching from the bloody parkrun lol
Joining at 3 weeksy?
If you are I'll play domestique....
LOL tempting mate. I'm sure you're rather top yourself than go up Box at my speed. You'd be putting out about 3w/kg !
Nope, I'm struggling to walk down the stairs so that sounds like a challenge.
I'll keep an eye out for you on the start line ๐
Did the "up and down race" on the mountain on Friday, bloody hard that, had nothing in the tank whatsoever. Bit of a weird feeling that you basically don't pedal for the last 10 minutes either, not sure I'd do it again. The climb to the radio mast is just horrible too.
Depends what time i get out and how long it takes on the KTM to get home mate. I'm in the office till aout 2.15 today, so should in theory be home for 2.45 which would give me enough time to get changed, set up the bike and have 5 mins warm up etc.... If that all goes well, it's possible.
Plan B is the 7.35pm EVR race.
that climb to the radio mast is a killer - especially on my standard chainset on the commuter.....
My real ride on Sunday showed the benefits of Zwift winter training.
You had to climb a mountain to a radio mast ?
๐
Did the Zwift 3pm with Nath as my super domestique. Jeez he can pedal that boy. I was close to puking 3 times.
Lost ground on lap 2 up box on the group. But thanks to Nath we pulled 1 guy back.
Onto the sprint and 150m before I wanted to go, Young went for it, nooo, I went, caught him but died and he did me.
As for the question of how hard was it, I set a new FTP today of 300w. Up from a previous 295w, so yeah, I tried hard!
Enjoyed myself though.
Lol! Sounds awesome well done!
Nice one Weeksy!
Spent most of that race keeping your guys head just on the bottom of my screen haha. Hard to pace up box hill as I'm not convinced the drafting does that much?
On the way down it was quite funny to be pushing out 400w to catch mr young, while your guy is sat on his top tube keeping up...must remember that for next time..
Good fun, couldn't unclip afterwards though ๐
To maintain speed in aero you need to be in a couple of riders really. Lap1 was a doddle downhill, lap 2 I had to pedal a few times but you were sitting in just the right place for me.
I guess the draft uphill is about as much use as it wilould be in real life, e.g not much. But it does help psychologically a bit. I just couldn't push any more though.
I did the Z TAZ race this morning which was for Cat A, thought i would see how long i could stay with them. The answer is just to box hill and then i got left for dead, those boys are rather rapid. I finished 9th in the race but i was a long way from the top 5. I did box hill in 7:48 which i think is my second fastest time (cant find the right segment to check). It turns out i was the heaviest in the race at 79kg
@weeksy and there's a certain speed you need to be doing too?
@blader I've been doing the EVR Asia races - I'm one of the heavier at 70kg lol.
Well actually 69.5kg, finally shifted some...
Tomorrow I'm split between the KISS Americas at 11am or PRS at 6pm. I ain't doing both again as that hurt. ๐
59kph. I think there's a certain descent angle too of about 5%
Anyone racing today?
Ah yesterday's race cost me points boo!
Trying to get to elite status ๐ http://zwiftrankings.com/vcr/client/racer/98508/lifetime/all/1
Sorry NAth... didn't know that !
Mine went up a bit.... but DAMN i didn't realise a DNF would hit so hard... i had one 2 months back and knocked me back 28 points !
Hell, even finishing 6th a few weeks back cost me several points.
