Any on here? 🙂

The American one not the spit n sawdust UK version.
Who is it meant for? Kids/adults

How do they workout who is the champion, obviously it takes fit/strong/tough/stupid men and women. but it's just rough dancing.

Took son to see Fighting with my Family which is why I'm curious.

UK version is way better for going to see live than the WWE version.

Used to be well into it, hope to be able to see Fighting with my Family soon as it looks really good!

Basically the most popular wrestler will be champion (hence why the Rock rose to the top despite being distinctly average athletically). Obviously they set up rivalries and often a "baddie" (again the most popular one) will win the championship by foul play somehow as part of one of the soap-opera style storylines.

Seems to be very popular mainly with kids and (not to be too un-PC) rednecks/the military. I believe they give free tickets to servicemen & do a lot of shows/etc for the troops so are extremely popular with them.

Having seen a lot of docs/behind the scenes stuff re. WWE they have to work extremely hard, you need a phenomenal work ethic & a lot of luck to rise to the top. I wouldn't underestimate them (Louis Theroux made that mistake I believe 😂) just because it's "fake", it's basically theatre and very entertaining when it all comes together.

From what ive seen, its just a series of rough dancing shows, and that the whole 'championship' aspect of it is just the back story to keep punters hooked who aren't going to the shows, but are buying merch. So much merch. And pay per view.

For kids and adults that just want to switch their brain off for a couple of hours. No different to movie fight scences

Its a soap opera, with the matches telling the story.
Think of it like a more intelligent made in Chelsea.
When its bad its very bad. When its good it can be excellent entertainment.

You should watch glow.

Hell yeah. Whilst the original Glow hasn't aged well at all, the Netflix series is ace.

The Rock himself said that they call themselves "sports entertainers" and that you win and have a career by being the favourite with the crowds, not by winning a match.

I'm not into it at all, but can appreciate the strength and co-ordination it must require

The original "scripted reality show"?

We used to watch it in the Diesel, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Bret/Owen Hart, Undertaker time. Entertaining without needing any brain power to follow.

It's a kids show isn't it? Quite different to British Wrestling which is for your grandma.

Are these people able to switch them back on again?

Hillbilly folk, those who make moonshine in the woods, people who have less teeth than they do fingers and rednecks. Can we say Hillbilly and redneck? Bit late if not.

A great website / podcast which documents when wrestlers screw up their moves. Highly entertaining!

I reckon WWE/F/whatever gets a back hand form all the healthcare companies in the US, there must be thousands of cases where kids/rednecks have tried to copy them and, well, haven't.

It's pantomime with violence instead of double entendre. And that's not intended as a put down.

+2 watch Glow on Netflix.

It's heel, not baddie BTW.

What was 'Fighting With My Family' like then?
The trailer does look good but I suppose that's the point.

The most popular being the champ makes perfect sense 😃

Was better than I expected, but ....

My son is 8 and its a 12a. “What’s a ****er” “what’s a stiffy” “what’s a prick” all new words for an idiot. He was clueless and was laughing as everyone else was.

Family next to us got up and left after the 2nd “****er” but their kids were older than him.

And son wasn’t impressed that the Rock was only in two scenes.

Wow, you say that like you’re proud that your 8yo managed to surf the flow of profanity.

Confused, I dint notice any mentions of pride 🤔 just that he didn’t think he was hearing any “profanity”

No idea what your on about. Am I meant to feel like a bad dad for taking him to a 12a?

If it was the F or C word or any slightly less valued swear words maybe understand your point.

To be fair 4 asterisks could be the f or c or t swears.

I'm guessing it was dick?

Nope it was the mildly offensive spanker with a W.

No idea why it’s caught by the swear filter. All ok in a 12a movie but not in this forum 😃🤔
