[Closed] Worst job in the World? Another rant by Harry the Spider

Following on from my recent best selling rant - BT, what a bunch of ####s...

I suspect that the worst job in the World must be in the Talk Talk / Tiscali call centre.

Having left them over a month ago I was quite surprised when they took another payment this morning. So I’ve spent 2 hours today on hold in various departments while they sort out their mistake (they forgot to cancel my account when it migrated to BT – another set of A-holes).

It’s no wonder when I finally got through to the correct poor sod that I was a little tetchy with them. If the kid who spoke to me has spent all day talking to people who have been messed about then she must go home with a very depressed state of mind.

They don’t exactly help themselves do they? Mr Tiscali / Talk Talk, for the sake of your employees STOP ####ING THINGS UP!

My list of really bad customer service this month:-

Tiscali - Sorry, when you cancelled you account we didn't cancel the billing

BT - ####s

Royal Mail - Not entirely sure why we paid for a mail redirect as the guy who bought our house is very happy to pass on all of our post.

How hard can it be to get things right?

Thanks, but I don't care. I needed to get it off my chest before going home.

Cancel your own DDs and standing orders. C*nts can't take your money then

We kept the DD open. On reflection a schoolboy error.

I like the way you substituted a * for an # to indicate a profanity.

Cancel your own DDs and standing orders

Do most companies recommend you do this when you cancel with them? Standard practice for me, save a lot of messing about.

Royal Mail - seconded. If I wanted to lose stuff I'd just throw it out of the car whilst driving down the motorway, this would save me £2.40 and a 15 minute wait the Post Office with 150 old people who stink of p155 and want to buy one second class stamp, whilst people (who could sell me postage) come and ask me if I want to buy hideously expensive car insurance.

Oh for FFS Harry, are you me in a parallel universe exactly one year in the past? I was with Tiscali before I moved to BT last year, they did the same think, kept taking payments off despite masses of notice, written and telephone communications. In the end I had to get the bank to block payments to them. Then they start sending me summons for money owed to them when they in fact owed money to me. It was all faint annoyance in the background though and BT were the real worry. It dragged on into June though, at the time I put it down to Tiscali being on the brink of going bust, as they were actually pretty good to deal with right up to that point.

Now mark this Harry, this is the future speaking. You think you are tied in with BT for a year, but if you don't cancel at the end of that year then without any notification your contract will be extended for another full year, complete with a penalty for early release. Its the new BT way, if you can't keep customer happy keep them trapped. How ****ed is that! Even though you know'll that, when you call in good time to cancel they'll tell you that 'sorry all our systems are down we can't log your cancelation you'll need to call another time'

As for the rest of the year ahead, you're not going to get a holiday this year, the hernia op is going to go fine, but you'll be swearing at speed bumps for a month, and you're going to spend too much on Christmas but it'll be a real pleasure having all the family together and you'll have a really good time of it.

When you tell people in the subject that it is a rant, I start to imagine that your parents tried to sell you to gypsies as a child.

Repeatedly.

Surley a contract can't be extended without the agreement of both parties (or am I just being naive)?
