Nothing special today, but I did get my streak up to 100!
An odd one two days ago when the solution was GNASH and I got it in 4. I went on to Wordlebot & I got the following comment after my third guess GNAWS
There was only one solution left and this isn’t it. (GNAWS is a valid guess, but it’s unlikely to be a solution based on what I’ve learned from playing Wordle.)
How can the bot say a word is valid but isn’t a solution? 🤨
It generally avoids plurals and present tense of verbs so the guess is a real word but not a likely solution.
Goodness me! Every day is a school day. I hadn’t noticed the lack of plurals thing but apparently they changed it in Nov 2022. Handy to know.
I only noticed off the back of the bot repeatedly telling me the same thing!

The aim in our house is entirely to get it in 3. I only ever go for twos when there's a really good chance, and I prefer to get it in five rather than four because I hate fours. Stats now are one in one, 8 in two, 198 in three, 145 in four, 69 in five and 13 in six. I think I failed once, in the early days when somewhat pissed.
My only aim is to avoid the shame of failure. I've played 605 games and failed 11 times. Best streak of 162, current streak is 6, but I missed one day while travelling, ending a streak of 74, so I've won the last 80 I've played.

^^^consonants are key, never duplicate in your first two words and never chase a letter. That's all I've got.

I haven’t failed yet, but the risk hangs increasingly heavily over me each day.
I’ve played 563 times, have a max streak of 202, stats as follows:

Bloody fours.
Pretty impressive stats there. Mine aren’t as good, but I changed my tactics a few months ago & it is definitely paying off. Not chasing a letter & going for consonants seems to be working for me.
I've changed mine starting word to end with a "Y" just because I ******* hate "treey" "****y" "leafy" etc. does that count as a tactic?
I'm also wholly unsure what you mean by chasing a letter

Erm, you can't do that, the green ones have to go back in the same place on the next guess & yellow have to reappear in your next guess (though admittedly you can put them in the same wrong position if it's helpful)?

If you're not playing in hard mode, you aren't limited in what you can do. If you play in hard mode, you are forced to chase letters.

I'm trying to finish my first play through so I can do nightmare but I was starting to think it's it's a procedurally generated thing.
It encourages me to know people have got finished the first run through though.

*it has a strange dictionary imo for words such as today's and like borax or snafu but not norse to be included.
