Ok, gf needs a waterproof jacket, one she can cycle in and look reasonably smart for work. Have tried Millets, Blacks, Go Outdoors, North Face, Berghaus, Taunton Leisure...Evans Cycles, Specialised shop and more.
Problem being is that none of the jacket arms are long enough - she's Dutch, hence tall 😉
So do any women on here have the same problem? If anyone knows of specific brands/models to try please let me know... In Bristol but will travel to get the right jacket!
This probably isn't entirely helpful given I can't vouch for sizing but http://www.ananichoola.co.uk/index.html has some nice stuff. She works on a boutique basis so will prob be able to give you exact measurements on items
Thanks for your reply chickadee - looks promising
I have a Showers Pass jacket that a mate got for me in New York. Dunno about arm length. It's long on me but I'm a short arse. Well made though
I've got a Race Face jacket which has extremely long arms, from Chain Reaction.
Thanks emsz and Munqe-chick, will try and find somewhere in Bristol/Cardiff that sells Race Face jackets - extremely long arms sounds perfect! 🙂
hello, thanks to my dutiful network of friends, I've been told about this post.
You are welcome to come and try an AnaNichoola jacket from the studio in croydon, or send me some measurements that you want to work from. Our jackets aren't exactly bespoke but there is opportunity to tweak certain measurements i.e. longer arms.
Feel free to ask any questions anna@ananichoola.co.uk

Cool thanks Anna, will certainly pass on your details - thanks for posting!
Got a few more places in Bristol to try - mostly up the Whiteladies rd end, Ellis Brigham, Psyclewerx, Bike Bristol, Cotswold Outdoor (hadn't realised they'd just opened a shop), Kathmandu, however the chance to tweak measurements a little sounds very good.
Thanks to all for your help.
I've got a womens Pace waterproof - bought it off their website 3 yrs ago and its still waterproof - never a bad thing! Have washed and re-proofed it a few times after getting it muddy and its stood up to it well.
I've got the same problem with jackets not having long enough arms but this one is OK. Have washed and re-proofed it a few times after getting it muddy and its stood up to it well.
You'll have to work out whether its smart enough for work - it depends on the job - I work outdoors a fair bit so it would be fine for me. No hood as its a bike jacket so not the best option if its needed for walking as well.
Have a look at a Rab jacket. Made of eVent, which is aces, and a really good cut for zee ladeeez.
me and the wife's Paramo jackets have long arms - the lighter ones are great for the bike
