Got broadband at home set up with the main pc on the telephone line with Tiscali.

Just acquired an IBM Thinkpad that has wireless internet already installed that keeps telling me there are wireless connections in vicinity but they all seem to be private connections.

What do I need to connect either to an external wireless network or set up my own little internal wireless network so that I can access the internet without having to plug directly into the BB modem?

Thanks

you need an ADSL modem with Wireless router built in. i'm surprised Tiscali don't provide one. I have a basic BT one you can buy for not a lot if you want

Is your current Modem USB or do you connect to it with a network cable?

Don't forget to get a decent flux capacitor

Thanks woody2000, yes it was.

mmw, had the bb for about 3 years and only got a basic modem nothing with a wireless router on. Current modem is a USB connection. Thanks for the offer, now I know what I need I'll have a dig around locally.

CF, had to flog that to pay the mortgage this month!
