Prior to the forum being zapped, there was a bit of chat ref this seemingly unsavoury gent who has quietly ripped off many via the classifieds - including me.
Does anyone know what the latest is?
last I heard it sounded like the Police were only interested in everyone waiting until mid-Jan and then getting refunds from Paypal who in turn would write the whole thing off. Ta-daaa! No unsolved crime statistic...
OK,thanks. I'll contact Paypal and get on the list.
I'd ask for a crime number - collectively, or several individually
that way you'll maybe get dem po-lice to take some action (if that's what you want)
I heard will_jc hacked the site to destroy all evidence...
oh yeah...
.... WILL !?
Paypal found in my favor but no funds in his account to issue refund
Do you know if Paypal keep the situation under review so that if there were to be funds, we would get paid?
PayPal found in my favour and refunded £135.04 of the £140 I paid (though I did pay by credit card) to him. The PayPal ruling was completed this morning after I complained on the morning of the 19th

I may be the slightly lucky here, but I still want to rip his head off.
Bump
Worth noting that anyone who puts "Gift" on the PayPal transaction would have no comeback against fraud like this - bear that in mind when sellers request it "to avoid PayPal fees".
