MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Recently switched our interweb to BT, and since then, after we have shut down the PC, we come back an hour or more later and it has turned itself back on.
It happens after the kids are asleep, so I don't think it's them, it has happened to me and MrsSwadey, so it is not one of us doing something wrong, and we are being extra careful that we have properly shut it down rather than clicked "Restart" by mistake.
Are BT secretly watching us, or do we have a poltergeist with a penchant for dodgy websites....?
Are you wearing lacy knickers when it happens?
Is Wake on LAN enabled in the BIOS?
Is it rammed full of porn? 😀
What cranberry said.
wake on lan (BIOS)
Thanks guys for the answer.
Now, can anyone explain in simple terms what you mean and how to fix it? 😳

Virtual poltergeist.
Press the Delete key repeatedly while booting the PC, this usually allows you to get into the BIOS.
In one of the menus, you'll be able to set an option called something like "Wake Up On Lan" to make sure it's off.
