In the name of St. Valentine.
Me and mrs s are nipping out for an early nose bag and a bottle of red at our local boozer. I won't use the word food. It's more reheated catering logistics.
We'll be home before the hapless romantics turn out in their River Island / Superdry clobber.
Both me and her both have flu.
Win.
Why would I go out for that when I can get it at home?
Mrs was supposed to have the afternoon off and do some cooking but she's in work so it'll be a takeaway, which as it's the second time in a fortnight makes me a liar on the poll.
We're off down to our local too. The food, however, is absolutely top notch. We tend to anyway, so no different from normal really. We don't need an excuse. 😀
Fillet steak and a nice expensive bottle of Pinot Noir we brought back from Chile for us....if the baby stays asleep long enough for us to enjoy it!
We're out, topping out at Plateau in Canary Wharf where it will be exclusive fine dining and Whiskey Sour chasers all night.
Yipeeee !! 😀
TV dinner, Aldi red and one off the wrist here.
Nope. Bought her a card and instead of wasting money on flowers or some other tat, I made a donation to her mum's favourite charity. Her mum's funeral was a year ago today so this day will always be tarnished for her, so I felt that was a far nicer gesture than overpriced commercial tat, and she loved it.
We have 8 for dinner. Table v romantic and already set, wine breathing nicely....
The other three guys owe me big time for such a cheap Valentines date for their wives!!!!!!
Mrs came into town and met me for lunch at Tesco's Cafe. 😀
Not me, I shall be cooking Steak for dinner then serving up some hot sausage later 😉

*mute*
Staying in for me, mrs is cooking. However, true to form she has forgotten some crucial part of the meal that I have to find on the way home from work. So I now need to find a 9" pastry tin on the way home.
Yes I'm cooking 😀
Fizz, salmon, with holendaise (sp?!) sauce and asparagus.
Presented badly, with swarthy service
You're eating a pastry tin?
9" - I hope it's to share.
it's (just another) Friday so it's ready meal risotto followed by spin class. mrs_d is working late.
closest we get to "celebrating" Valentines is a card each.
she won't let me machine gun any gangsters 😉
M&S meal for 2 including wine for £20.
Not something we normally do, don't bother with birthday cards or owt either.
But she's happy coz she's not got to cook 🙂
All set up for a special valentine's meal at home tonight :
Two bottles of champagne cooling in the fridge
Lovely local rump steak marinading in olive oil and wholegrain mustard
Big box of chocolates hidden in the cupboard
No idea what the wife's having though. She can make herself a sandwich while I'm watching the rugby.
Meal at the restaurant in a local pub. Does fantastic food and always has ~5 guest ales on. Been quite good since Christmas, so really looking forward to it.
Fillet steak and a nice expensive bottle of Pinot Noir
Same here - cost me just shy of £20 for two pieces of steak though! Cooking with proper fat home-cooked chips, portabello mushrooms, baby leeks and sweetcorn on the cob.
To be fair, I enjoy the cooking as much as the eating.
Al, you miserable sod!
Go for the double at least, make a night of it.
large chicken kebab and chips, with a pint before whilst we wait and a pint after, her choice 😆
My Missus's car failed it's MOT this morning and I had to bail her out (we just moved house so pretty skint ATM) so she's getting a card that reads:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I paid for your brake pads
No flowers for you
Pure romance me!
That's what she said!9" - I hope it's to share
So I now need to find a 9" pastry tin on the way home
Hint* It was a coded message..
LoCo - MemberYes I'm cooking

That's exactly what I have planned, chucking in some broccoli with the asparagus and some sweet potato to bulk things up though, job done!
She's thoroughly impressed that im attempting it as i'm a hopeless cook, im dreading it 😕
I think it should have read 9" Pasty 😉
Going to our (not quite). Local to eat but the food is fantastic. I intend to have the baked eggs with chorizo followed by venison Wellington and maybe the cardamon bread pudding for afters if I can fit it in, washed down with a couple of bottles of Luccarelli 2012.
Yep, we eat there often enough that I know the menu pretty well! Shame the black pudding scotch egg is off the menu for the winter...
Roast Rib of Angus Beef and plenty of Malbec.
Not the most romantic of meals but is her favorite and possibly mine.
Why waste money on eating out when we can indulge ourselves for less than £50?
Staying in. Once daughter number 1 is in bed, and daughter number 2 is sleeping off her evening feed. I'm cooking -
Scallops
Surf n turf, aligot, asparagus.
Cream Swiss Roll for pudding.
All the wife's choice so I'd better do a good job.
Bottle of fizz is chilling for beforehand and St Emilion 1999 Grand Cru is decanted to go with the steak.
Why waste money on eating out when we can indulge ourselves for less than £50?
Someone else is cooking it, who's better at it than me, and I won't have to do the washing up afterwards. Works for me ! 😀
Nope and if I was I wouldn't pick somewhere crap just the same as any time I go out for food.
Chinese takeaway then down the local pub to watch a band!
Not me, were off to the bistro at cannon hall, then home for champagne and a furious (but romantic) seeing to.
😀
I had the day off work so have spent literally all day cooking and preparing a 9, yes, 9 course meal. It's a good job I love the cooking almost as much as I love my wife...
Did valentines last weekend....lovely empty restaurant, great service, just me and the mrs. Not a fan of sitting half an inch from the next couple, kind of ruins the atmosphere. Though it is interesting earwigging their conversation whilst the wife is in the ladies...
Staying in. MrsStevo is getting:
Moules mariniere
Fillet steak tournedos, in Stevo's legendary whisky, cream & mushroom sauce with roasted sweet-potato chips
Strawberries in white chocolate
Flowers too. 😀
We are off out for a romantic meal later at Whitley Hall. Not been at work today so after dropping Abigale of at the airport for her school trip its been a relaxing day. Just been looking through the box that has come with her frame in it and now going for a soak before we go out.
For all the guys sweating away in overheated kitchens, remember one month from now on 14th March it's your turn to sit back, relax, eat steak and,,,,,enjoy dessert 😉
BigG can I have a glass of your red please?
Fanks
Course you can Derek, swing by with a bottle of port and you can have a glass of the St Emilion. Be quick though, I keep tasting it to see how it's coming along, very well is the answer each time.
Both been too busy to sort anything out so it's a Waitrose valentines meal for 2 for us.
Home made green Thai curry and black cherry roulade for desert.
Can't be arsed to go out for Shit food.
I had a couple of sausage rolls when they all got back from kids tennis. 🙄
Mrs is currently packing as she and MCJnr are off to London for the weekend.
I will be entertaining LittleMissMC this weekend - lane booked at the bowling alley in the morning, she has pocket money saved to go and buy another Lego Friends set after that, Pizza Hut takeaway vouchers ready for a treat tomorrow night, short bike ride Sunday morning followed by lunch at my folks before swimming club Sunday afternoon.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.
We had a bottle of wine and one of those push tv dinners last night. I would normally cook for Valentine's but we're frazzled from illness, trying to organise a building project so decided to cheat. She's been out without me tonight for some type of girl pampering type thing and I ve dug out the (original) x box and had an hour or two on forza before popping out b the front of the house to try and make sure some stuff was secure
