I'm trying really hard to give you the benefit of the doubt here, but cant really find a way to interpret this thread in any way which doesnt show you up as a bit callous.

Steady on. He's not moaning about being caught up is he. Didn't read like that to me anyway.

I didn't read the OP as a "FFS numpties on the road" type post. Get a grip ladies.

I think the title could have been worded in such away that didn't seem like a death had inconvenienced the OP

Your right it may of came across wrong to some.

Tragic event... Not the fact we we got diverted that's irrelevant.

It's just an eye opener in what's coming the other way all the time... Scary.

regardless of the OP's sentiments with the thread (an I'll give him benefit of doubt) was there any need for the picture?

OP didn't bitch about dead people, said he was caught up in it.

'Callous' you say SbZ?

I certainly hope they investigate why they left them alone.

She has the look of a psycho about her.

Based on what, SbZ? Your extensive knowledge of working as a psychiatrist with people with psychopathic disorders?

I thought you were a Pilates teacher or something?

That picture is pretty graphic... but jeez I had no idea a lorry could plough through the central reservation like that!!

At the end of it all, stuff like this happens every day. There's only so much compassion you can have, even less for those you don't know. Still horrible mind.

So when are they going to start to fine the Highways Authority for crashes the way they do rail-track?

obviously the OP, didnt have a radio, didnt look at the numerous signs advising of the traffic collision, abnd the road being closed, probably drives a company funded vehicle,is just ignorant of the suffering all those families involved are now going to suffer, along with all the highly trained firepersonnel and ambulance staff.

the one thing worse to be honest than the OP feeling the need to post in the first place is the typical STW bickering and fighting that is now going on
Let the dead rest in peace, let the lorry driver and people at the scene live with today for the rest of their lives and let us keep to talking about bikes, greatful in the fact that we still can, and let the moderators lock / delete the thread before it regenerates even worse

Should probably complain to the DM about that - they also have a closer up shot.

@project

RDS told us nothing. Signs only said road closed. Only found out the sad details when I got home.

I'm amazed at how far that lorry got through the barrier.

Shocking and truly sad for the now bereaved 🙁 No callousness intended.

Actually, I found the picture pretty instructive. Looks like the central barrier has failed in its job to keep the truck on the correct carriageway.

One of my mates brothers found that his wife had been killed in a similar crash when he saw it on TV. Central barriers do nothing to stop trucks.

That picture is pretty graphic...

You really need to avoid Spanish press if you're impressed by that photo...

Number 8/17 of this series was on the front page this week, not a nice photo and I'm not linking to it directly:

That central reservation just looks like a stretched elastic band. Funny how you can just drive along listening to your tunes, thinking you are nice and safe in your fast metal box, protected by a big metal girder from the giant things coming the other way. Everything is nice n safe and quiet. then BOOM, all over. Scary. Thanks Daily Mail!
