Wife is away on business for three days. That means.....
Bicycle maintenance in the kitchen!!! Woohoo! life doesn't get any better than this. & while she may suspect, she'll never know the truth for certain. 😆

This is a mentality I can definitely relate to!

I too have a free house, but only for two days.....tonight pizza, beer, rum, MY choice of film, lots of episodes of Cafe Racer (cheesy american motorbike programme, but lots of cool bikes) and a bed to myself......only bike maintenance will be trying to get a freehub to work as it should

I'm intrigued by the large bucket he has close to hand too.

haha, it looks that way but it's a by-product of the shit phone camera. it's actually some weird draft excluder cushion-type thing that the missus bought, resting against the skirting board. and the bucket is to catch all the oil merrily pouring out of the fork lowers. hence the towel as well!

Hope your wife doesn't sign up for STW or you'll be in big trouble!

My wife lets me do my bike stuff in the kitchen but only because the kitchens so sh*te it can't get any worse! New kitchen will be going in late summer/early autumn so then it'll be back to the cold of the garage 🙁

OK, one of them at least is a Pompetamine! I'm thinking of changing my IP for a Pompetamine, but sourcing cheap wheels (it's only a commuter) seems a bit tricky. The wheels which came with my Il Pompino have been great, utterly bomb proof, only problem is I have now worn the rims so much they're buckling:

Yep, ff, that's exactly what I did. Had some old XT hubs lying around, used those with Mavic A317 rims. Very nice wheels. Not ridiculously expensive and then, as you know, hydraulic discs are de rigeur. Excellent bike in its current guise.
