When I was a kid I used to hate "Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em".

Frank Spencer. Lovable loser or just a loser?

I was waiting for the episode where Betty slit his throat and ran off with the CID investigating officer.

Cat done a whoopsie on the carpet? Even the cat hates you. W@nker.

Harold Lloyd rocked. I used to enjoy watching his films on telly in the summer holidays

Was never a fan of it or "Get Some In", "It Ain't Half Hot Mum", "Are You Being Served" and "Hi-De-Hi". Didn't like "Dad's Army" either, but I think that was just me being young and unsophisticated. Can see why it's so reverred now.

"Little Britain" - why? IMHO offensive as with quite a lot of new "comedy". BUt it's probably just me.

oh..... I thought this was going to be a thread about spreading the love...... " while everyone is hating things, actually I.... etc"

Like Flash's thread a while back. Excuse me while I just lug some sunny sunbeams into your thread of hatred..... Poor Frank .

😀

With Speaker2, but "Some Mothers.." spawned all those bl00dy impersonations, probably the only think LESS funny than a completely embarrassing and unfunny program is an unfunny, talentless wannabe comedian doing a rubbish impersonation of an unfunny and embarrassing program

Like Dad's Army though. Not deserving of the god like status it has now, but still amusing.

Totally agree. It was one programme that got switched off.
Apparently in real life when Michael Crawford acted in 'Phantom of the opera' he wasn't well liked.

Hijack-Harry, in issue 51 of ST mag. I think we were on the ride where you led 30 people around your local trails and 6 got lost. 😳

Awful show but was it as bad as Sorry, Ronnie Corbet getting bullied by his mother.

That was the one where Vince (the responsible adult) couldn't make it. Me, Terrahawk and originalipunkrockdad shot off the front and we lost them at the first set if lights. What a set of knobs 😳 .

Back to the post... Windsor Davies was ace in "It ain't 'alf hot mum". The best Welsh psycho on TV.

Dad'd Army very good IMO - stupid plots, oddball characters, good acting and playing on the underlying class tensions and wartime paranoias. Manwaring vs Wilson was really well done.

Forget The Fast Show, it was an weekly catchphrase comedy too:
"Don't panic Mr Manwaring"
"We're all doomed!"

Only the canned laughter is a bit annoying IMO

Even now when people do jokey impressions of Frank Spencer I have to ask them to stop, or I just leave the room. ****in loathed that character and the programme....

Ahh, the classic British sitcom. Can anyone remember Love Thy Neighbour? What unalloyed joy that was... 😯

It's a funny thing, I now like last of the summer wine. I guess it's 'cos I'm older. The acting is quite good and the scenery is o.k.
It's Britains longest running comedy.
