I’m sick of listening to music coming out of a pants Amazon Echo and would like a sound bar to connect to Apple TV for music and for watching movies.
it’s a pretty small living room and the tv is above the mantle piece. I’d like it to connect wirelessly to save a cable showing from tv to speaker. Anyone have either set up with Apple TV? Any recommendations? User experience?

You will need a hdmi cable from the tv to the soundbar, although you can stream directly from the soundbar for music.
I went with a sonos soundbar and some ikea speaker/lamps for wireless surrounds as they are compatible with sonos.
A wireless option would be Homepods connected to the Apple TV. If your Apple TV is recent enough, and your TV has ARC over HDMI, then audio from all sources connected (or built in) to the TV can be sent to the Homepods, not just audio from the Apple TV itself. You'd really need at least two Homepods, and probably not Minis, so won't be cheap. I'd go with OG Homepods, rather than current to save some dough,
