Anyone used one with any success?

Was thinking about heading down to the beach for a look around, so don't want a toy one, but don't want to spend huge either. Anyone have any experience / success?

Garrett Ace 250 circa £170.

I was on the look out for one very similar reasons to yourself and a mate of mine who has been doing detecting for the last 30 odd years recommended the 250 to me. Brilliant bit of kit lots of bang for the money and they also get good reviews to back it all up.

The Ace 150 is good too, just lacks some of the discriminator settings that the 250 gives you, basically the same machine.

They are both eminently good for re-sale so you would likely get most of your money back if you did lose interest...

Sorry Charlie, been off this for a bit. Discriminator allows you to set the machine to ignore certain types of metal or objects such as iron or ring pulls etc.
