Requirements:
Ability to practice coding eg python.
Power Platform ie power bi, power apps.
Latest version of Excel.
Biggish screen as won't be taking it out of the house.
Ability to play football/champ manager - not arses about having the latest game version.
Internet including YouTube.
Half decent photo storage. Not after highest spec,. Just somewhere to quickly upload loads of camera pics and ability to quickly delete duplicates.
Thanks

Crikey, another laptop thread...

Just search, this question has been asked and answered many, many times.

But +1 mattyfez - if you don't need portability why buy a laptop.

I sadly don't have the room for a PC given my office room desk is taken up by my work computer.

If you've already got a desk with a computer on it, a PC but sharing the existing screen/keyboard/mouse via a kvm switch might be best? Doesn't sound like you need high spec so can get pretty small PCs

Kvm switches

Micro PCs

or to look at it another way, get your company to give you a laptop that you can hook up to your PC's monitor ... that way you can run your pc and a nice monitor, and plug your work lappy in when you want to use the bigger better screen fo work.

Is the tail wagging the dog here?

What's your budget?

Ability to practice coding eg python.

Literally any laptop on the planet.

Power Platform ie power bi, power apps.

No idea, never used it.

Latest version of Excel.

Literally any laptop on the planet. Is Excel not already on your work PC?

Biggish screen as won’t be taking it out of the house.

Physically large or high resolution? How big is big"ish"? Is plugging it into your existing monitor an option?

Ability to play football/champ manager – not arses about having the latest game version.

Literally any laptop on the planet.

Internet including YouTube.

Literally any laptop on the planet.

Half decent photo storage.

Define "half decent". Also, where are your backups?

Not after highest spec,. Just somewhere to quickly upload loads of camera pics and ability to quickly delete duplicates.

Literally any laptop on the planet which has, as you say, a half decent amount of storage. It's impossible to gauge your storage requirements from "loads of camera pics." A high end dSLR continuous-shooting RAW is somewhat different from uploading a couple of selfies out of your phone of an afternoon.

this question has been asked and answered many, many times.

It has. Solid state drive (SSD or better); the more RAM the better; Lenovo (build quality) or Dell Outlet (bargain prices).
