We have one of those George Formby grills, except it's looking a bit tired and is a PITA to clean as the cooking plates don't come off.

Anyone recommend an alternative? Ideally would be about the right size to do 6 or so snorks and have detachable cooking plates.

I quite like those hot plates they sell as Tepanyeki (sp) grills
Ours gets a good bit of use

We paid £20 for one of these from Aldi 3 years ago. It's fantastic, though it now lives in our trailer ready for camping trips and as an extra cooking surface for the odd barbecue.

Re: The George & cleaning.

Once used, turn back on, let it get super-hot temperatures and then wipe with a sheet of bounty.

Clean as a whistle!

I have been known to soak kitchen roll in it and use it as an accelerant to light the stove.
