MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I thought I had one set up, but I don't.
I want
- one page per post rather than them listed in a long stream
- the ability to make posts from mobile or tablet (android)
- the ability to upload a word document - less important but handy
- maybe a way of organising by subject matter? Not sure.
I'm new here, so Hi! Most used blog platform I believe is wordpress, you can install themes and modify the site according to what you want it to look like.
I'm not new here, but I thought Wordpress was ok. I couldn't customise the bit I wanted to though, which was annoying. And I don't have time to write a blog, but I think thats the same on all platforms 😉
They'll all do those, I'm sure.
I've written my own in the past and used Wordpress and Blogger as well as playing with some of the more obscure ones. With a bit of playing with settings, both Wordpress and Blogger are pretty adaptable. I self-hosted Wordpress for years before getting bored of paying money for a URL and having to remember to upgrade the install. I currently tend to use Blogger.
Blogger is the google owned one? I'm already a bit into Google ecosystem so that's probably enough of a reason to choose it.
That's the one. Makes it easy to search/embed your Google Photos, etc.
I started my blog using Blogger (I'm also in the Google ecosystem) but after trying Wordpress, I much preferred that - better templates and easier to write and upload using a mobile device.
Take a look at mine for some ideas - orena45blog 🙂
It's just over 15 years since my first blog post 🙂
I use Blogger.
The mobile interface could be better but there are other apps available.
I've not tried loading a Word document to it.
Very customisable, though I've not strayed far from one of the supplied themes.
The option of having tabbed Pages as well as Posts is very useful for organizing content.

Please not Drupal. Please not Drupal. Please not Drupal... 😆

How is Fred?
How is Fred?
He outlived a few other bunnies, then headed off to the big hutch in the sky.
Wordpress, not hard to set-up and great to work with.
Mobile app is okay too.
