[Closed] Which Aftershave?

Right, I have finally given in to advertising pressures and want to buy some aftershave. I don't want to spend a lot and don't want to smell "fruity".
Any recommendations for something subtle and not too expensive?

Thanks in advance.

Davidoff Cool Water.
Zara do a decent one, and King of Shaves do a couple as well.
If you fancy something a bit unusual, the Paul Smith one is ok, well the missis likes it.

Allure Homme Sport by Chanel.

Does kick off with a clean cool fresh citrus, but then warms down to a nice pepper musk.

As confirmed online:

Top Notes (fragrance lasts about 20 minutes) Mandarin, Orange, Aquatic Note

Middle Notes (fragrance lasts 3 – 4 hours) Black Pepper, Neroli, Cedar

Bottom Notes (make fragrance last longer) Tonka, Vetiver, Amber, White Musk

Yum

I've had numerous. But the only aftershave I would consider replacing would be by Versace 'Eau Fraiche'

Nivea After Shave Balm. Anything that doesn't smell.

People shouldn't wear perfume, it gives me a headache.

Vera Wang, Allure Sport are good.

Just bought Diesel - only the brave which is very nice. It's not been out that long either.

Don't bother. Spend the money on other things. Can't bear perfume and aftershave 🙄

second Issey Miyake, the blue one of those is good too as are Armani Code and Moschino Umo get these for special occasions

Then for day-to-day use you want something cheaper, I like Tommy, and CK1, a bit girly but a classic and its always on offer in one of the shops.

Agreed I'm just about finished my bottle. Smokey, spicy and warm. Lovely stuff made by nice people with good Ethics (BNTBTBB are the posh arm of LUSH)

Oh and the Shaving Cream is the best ever!

It's internal air pollution. If it were an industrial product, much of the stuff in it would be more tightly controlled. As it is, it gets through the net. It also makes you a chav who doesn't care about other people's environment. A bad case is about as bad as cigarette smoke.

This equally applies to women's perfume!

Just don't so it. WTF is it for?

Can I just point out that many girlies have a very keen sense of smell ... and know whether you have just been too lazy to have showered and think that aftershave will disguise that 😉

not much worse than the stuff really, except when combined with a cheap pin striped suit and fugly watch on the wrist.. Oh, stick some glue in the hair to complete the picture.

FWIW - I'm well past the 'instant shower' thing. But surely a little hint of 'something special' shows that a bloke is making an effort for you surely? Or perhaps you prefer Eau de Black Sheep?

L'oreal Men expert 24hr moisturiser is £3.24 at Superdrug.

Looks after the skin, lasts ages and has a nice subtle smell. Neither I or the wife like perfumes.

tankslapper - would rather have a bunch of flowers given by a freshly showered bloke 😉

I used to work for a company that manufactured perfumes and sold them to the perfumery companies. Their profits were obscene.

Most aftershave is made by Unilever IIRC and then sold on. Probably a convenient bi-product of manufacturing washing powder.

Allure Homme Sport by Chanel.

+1

Also, quite a few manufacturers are bringing out "summer" aftershaves which tend to be a bit more citrussy. I know it's a triumph of marketing really, but some of them are nice. There's a CK one which is lovely. Also the Diesel one's not bad either.
