Just had a look for the 1st time in ages & it's says, 'sorry, daily usage limit reached'.

Anyone else got that? Is It now a pay service?

yeah it happens to mostly all websites that take data off of OS. It'll be back again tomorrow. Try http://maps.the-hug.net/ or Bing maps.

It just means they've run out of free tile requests from OS. Try the York Ramblers one - seems to be quieter.

Justgoride also has OS option and other overlays I think, if you need another option

www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php is pretty good for planning and exporting gpx files.

Has the OS maps aligned with google maps so easy to see the terrain when planning rides.

Are there any of these that have OS and Bing satellite laid side by side? I find that Bing seems to be more up to date and clearer than google in the main.

Am I missing something? You all know that Bing has an OS map option, right?
(I know the scale/zoom is a bit annoying)

Yes, but for looking at hill paths marked on OS, to see if they actually exist on the ground the side by side matched crosses on WTP is unrivalled.

Unless there's another....

WTP is invaluable. Great little cheeky-planning site.
Wasn't aware of the mirror on the York ramblers site though, thanks frogstomp for that 🙂

Especially in South Wales where every local bugger rides all over the moutains wherever they want leaving trails that aren't on any map.

For those who have a Viewranger account, the website has OS map option which the syncs any route you create with your device.

Yep, same here. One of the only downsides to the access laws up here, some paths disappear with no use, lots of new ones appear and they ain't on no maps.
