How could you read what he wrote, and then post that?
You’re going to have to dumb it down @TiRed … try using just three words.
I did wonder that too
There's Prince Charles tested positive for corona.
Prince Charles has it now..
Crikey..
He’ll have met a lot of people too.
try using just three words.
...antibody tests needed?
TiRED is bang on about that Oxford study. It takes massive assumptions and tries to make it fit instead of taking the data we have that is ever present from all the countries affected so far and working from that. I can't believe these authors have even postulated the theory far or less decided to start testing people. I can only expect it is due to a rivalry with Imperial and their noses being out of joint that they weren't the ones that changed the political direction?
Prince Charles is a super spreader given the amount of hands he shakes.
Luckily he’s got a nice second home in Scotland where the local press won’t complain that he’s taking up resources.
Also, I imagine he’s self isolating with twenty of his most useful servants.
Well this is a cheery read.
The last paragraph is especially alarming. Good job there’s a sensible, intelligent, restrained, compassionate and astute decision maker in command of the US army.
It's bloody awful journalism, that's what it is. I could have written that in less than 50 words.
Bad things are happening. We don't know how bad they are or how they will play out. There are other bad things not directly linked to other bad thing. Those might happen too. Double bad. But we just don't know. Anyway, let's ping that off to the editor and get paid.
The thing that strikes me about the Oxford study, is why if so many folks have already had it are we only now seeing lots of people seriously ill/dying
I'm no scientist, but even I can see the flaw with that theory..
Prince Charles tested positive for corona.
Travelled to his holiday home instead of staying in London, he chose to go Ballater dragging his household, Police and other support staff with him.
Absolutely incredible and displays a complete lack of common sense as well as a total disregard for the current situation.
But my mummy is queen so **** you all. Way to go Charlie......
They discussed it briefly on the PM programme on R4 last night and dismissed it because there were no corresponding deaths.
Prince Charles having Corona might be the closest he gets to having a crown!
Bit ironic really...
Prince Charles catching the deadly coronavirus after his dad said he'd like to be reincarnated as a deadly virus
The current coronavirus outbreak is no exception, with a remark Prince Phillip made back in 1988 resurfacing.32 years ago, the Queen’s husband spoke on the topic of reincarnation, and what he would come back as if such a thing existed.
He said: “In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation.”
Prince Charles is a super spreader given the amount of hands he shakes.
Yip, certainly looks that way...

Wonder how many less publicised functions he's been attending; imagine if it spread amongst the diplomatic community!!

I am (and was in the group), but you don't need to be. Your analysis is correct.
Prince Charles having Corona might be the closest he gets to having a crown!
Genuine LOL there. I hope he's OK, but it is a little darkly humourous. And dark humour is what gets people through adversity. Not that nonesense from Oxford.
A local Chinese woman went into my partner’s GP Surgery yesterday (she’s the practice manager) with 50 masks that the surgery had been unable to source anywhere. She dropped them off with a link to this website:

What’s interesting is that I think we’re seeing the start of a massive shift in soft power and global influence as the US screws up and China steps into the breach for the rest of the world.
As crazy as Trump is, it can’t be good having the Chinese dictatorship as world leaders.
Princes Trust Awards were 7th March. At that point in time, there were maybe 200 cases and 2 deaths. Not even on the radar for most people. And if it was, it was likely "an Italian problem".
wheras
Anglo Omani Society reception - 19th March. That was the day before every Patriotic Brit went to The Pub before they were shut. Well done, Charles. Not. Just demonstrating, one rule for us one rule for them.
It was known that Prince Charles had been in contact with infected folk before he came up to Balmoral with his retinue of security staff and hangers-on. ****ing parasite should be sent home like every other second home owner and "self isolater" has.
Silly old ****.
It’s bloody awful journalism
'Nouriel Roubini is a professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business and was senior economist for international affairs in the Clinton White House’s Council of Economic Advisers. He has worked for the IMF, the US Federal Reserve and the World Bank.'
Silly old ****.
How old is she?
Does she or any other lodgers have underlying health conditions?
If he was living there in the week, and elsewhere at the weekend, and intended to carry on that way, then her concerns might not be confined to his occupation.
On the face of it, her actions are awful, but this is a learning curve for everyone, and how to act is not always straight forward without the benefit of hindsight and knowing all the facts.
The thing that strikes me about the Oxford study, is why if so many folks have already had it are we only now seeing lots of people seriously ill/dying

People have been dying all winter, as usual, from apparent 'flu' complications. There will be a large number of pneumonias which have been classified that way without a second thought because Covid-19 didn't even register as an issue in the UK at that time.
But I agree, if it were circulating widely in the community, I'd expect some trace of it to turn up on the thousands of tests on people admitted to hospital they did without getting positives early in the outbreak. Nearly all the early cases they were getting had an identified source, rather than being out of the blue.
It's one of those things that you fervently hope is true because it means the overall death rate has to be much lower. We need to get out there and do some proper antibody testing to see what the prevalence of this virus is.
MOT’s suspended for six months
Given that 40% of staff in hospitals in the east of France have tested positive I find it more shocking that the NHS hasn't requisitioned accomodation for all its staff so they don't have to go home. Medical staff are turning out to be a major vector of transmission in France, Spain and Italy - learn from that NHS, don't let doctros into nursing homes, don't let doctors go home unless the people they live with are respecting confinement to the letter.
In our local ephad (old people's home) the staff are living in and there's no contact with anyone from outside.
UK webcams made really bad viewing until yesterday and today is even better. The pavements are finally deserted and the few people who are out are generally respecting a reasonable distance. The one thing that is odd is the amount of car trafic which is still higher than other countries with confinement measures - I reackon too many people are exploiting the ambiguities of government policy and still working.
STW seems representative, the vast majority are playing the game but there are stil a few chancers. Thumbs up to the majority.
I'm working in Cardiff today and there's a few police patrols stopping people and asking why they are out. One guy failed the attitude test by getting all hobby so he was taken away in the riot van.
Can see why they're doing it, the city is mostly dead but there are obvious small groups of people out for the hell of it and not keeping safe distances. A few more of those and the word will get out, either that or well end up with a total lockdown.
How old is she?
I was referring to Charlie! 🤐🤣
Ha ha!
Ed, hotels are being used for key NHS staff here as well. Will be extended as more hotels are made ready for this, I’m sure.
Hunt asking at PMQs both for weekly tests for NHS staff, and to open up public testing. Waffle response.
Nouriel Roubini is a professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business and was senior economist for international affairs in the Clinton White House’s Council of Economic Advisers. He has worked for the IMF, the US Federal Reserve and the World Bank.’
I know who he is, it's still an awful article. An appeal to authority doesn't negate the wishy washy un-insightful maybes in the article. At a time like this, when people are feeling afraid and vulnerable it's not really offering anything other than clicks for the Guardian.
Trying not to to build into a full rage on here....
Facebook market place/hobby selling group. "I'm going to keep buying and selling as I have to travel the country for my job!"
This is why we can't have nice things!
My stress levels have risen since going for the weekly shop and seeing a mother of my sons classmate, she cheerfully told me her son had being showing symptoms for a few days so she thought she better go shopping!! Why, why is it so hard to understand?
A couple of our employees walk to work and were stopped last night to see where they were going.
I have just issued essential worker letters for them to carry.
Pleased to see most of the country is now taking this seriously.
Why, why is it so hard to understand?
Because the vast majority of people are really quite stupid. We are reliant on the not quite so stupid taking note which will at least slow down the spread more than if everyone carried on as normal.
Supermarkets are clearly now the most dangerous place you can go as that is pretty much the only place people can 'legally' go to and you can guarantee they won't all be 2 metres apart.
Just been shopping at my local aldi, one out, one in and queuing in the car park 2m apart was working really well.
Clear lines on the floor at the checkout and people keeping their distance from each other.
Can it be like that all the time please.
Just been shopping at my local aldi, one out, one in and queuing in the car park 2m apart
Everyone just going into my local tesco as usual, now precautions at all.
Can it be like that all the time please.
As long as it’s this sunny all the time, that would be grand.
Local Lidl in Italy has been like that for 3 weeks. I wonder if Lidl and Aldi are better prepared to roll out these measures in UK because they have been operating like that in Europe for some time. It'll be all new to Tesco.
Surely there must be normal seasonal flu, or another Flu like Virus that is doing the rounds.
Forgive me if this sounds dumbed down , but I am not a scientist
The advice is , if you feel hot , or have a persistant cough then ring /online NHS111. You have to get past door #1. Then you may be seen by a GP or medical practioner who confirms symptons in line with C19, door#2
You then get admitted to Hospital , and there will be seen by another health care professional , bloods taken , and if you get past door#3 you are put in a ward and tested for C19
I am not certain but I think the actual number of positives results V negatives is in the region of 10 to 1 . Given we are not blanket testing , and you only get tested once in hospital . And to get to that stage you have to convince many health professionals that you have C19 , and even then its 10-1 chance that you dont, but you have another illness that mirrors C19 to a point.
Either the numbers are out , people being checked without symptons and in hospital with a broken arm , the tests are wrong ( doubtful ) or maybe its a combination of flu and C19??????

Why does this sound too good to be true?
