Love that. It would be good if it showed speed too. Also if it had a filter to show freight trains.

Awesome! I live near a level crossing and I often wish there was an app to tell me if the gate is likely to be closed for a long time! ๐Ÿ™‚

Update - just looked out of the bedroom window and the map is delayed about 30secs relative to the train ๐Ÿ™‚

Traksy is similar but based on the signalling system

Dear fellow Singletrackers

Please stop posting links to interactive map sites, I'm easily distracted by such things and have things to do.

Love and kisses

@tractionman did you happen to add my local train line to that link, (Manchester to Chester Cheshire line) or did it work that out itself based on my location?

the map does seem to be able to locate, I'm not on the big island so it doesn't work for me, but for those in GB it should I think.

And if that gets boring then the bustimes.org website shows where all the busses are.

You can also just look for the bus number you are after as they always turn up in threes.

I'll try to remember and post a screenshot of the aivr train cab video feed.ย

I took can pretend to be a real life train driver. Give me an ELR, miles and chainage and I'll screenshot it.ย

LNW and SCO only.ย

"When the train is stationary the arrow points north"ย

That's not very helpful on all the North/South lines. Why don't they just take the arrow away if it's not moving?

That's my only complaint though, I love an interactive map. Marine Traffic is on a quick link on my work computer as my office faces down Milford Haven and lots of interesting stuff moves around.

You could railway company filter for west coat railway co. Would maybe pick out a lot of the specials.

Just found a Grosmont (i.e. north york Moors railway) to York N.R.M. heading south near Thirsk, likely something interesting.

This is great, now I can work out if I'm about to be held for 15 minutes by three consecutive trains at the level crossing on the way to Airedale Hospital. I wonder if the ambulance control room has access to this kind of data?

I love seeing the railway infrastructure, especially the abandoned tracks.ย  Nice to see some re-used as cycleways and footpaths - the route from Scarborough -> Whitby for example - aka The Cinder Track

I'd like "type of train".ย

East Midlands are just rolling out the new Aurora fleet to replace the ageing Meridians. I got an EMR to London and back the other day and was hoping for a shiny new train but it was a flaky old one with shit wifi.

realtimetrains is a useful website, that often does show type of train but it's not a tracker map, it's more just to pop in whatever station you're at and see the next arrivals / departures and how late they are.

Unfortunately I don't think signalbox has any freight trains, I've not found any just by clicking.

Realtimetrains does show freight services. So the data is all there and available.ย
