So we were supposed to be going to the Alps in June but unfortunately Mr MC has broken his olecranon (bone which connects tricep to elbow) so 4-6 weeks off the bike. Had to cancel the trip. Last time Mr MC injured himself was in Morzine in 2009 which resulted in 5 days in hospital as a result we went to NY for 5 days in October. So where shall we go this time? Probably a long weekend non biking (we are hopefully going to Sierra Nevada for a week in September). Any great suggestions? I thought of Bruges etc as wanted to go there for years but won't the weather be horrific? Mind I guess most places it could be!

Madrid's usually fairly warm up til the end of October, then starts to cool, before hitting bloody freezing in December. Great for a long weekend, bit limited for much longer.

October warm, November warmer than UK but on the turn, generally dry and sunny though.
