Mrs Seadog has been invited, very kindly, to a birthday do of a very posh friend up in the mountains above Zurich. Very Posh Friend is also, mercifully, very generous and is footing the bill for flights and hotel etc. Mrs Seadog now needs to be kitted out with appropriate clothing at not too much expense.

Mainly a very good jacket, not necessarily a ski jacket, as she won't be skiing, just something well suited to a walk in the woods up in the snow.

Not sure which sites are best for this kind of kit.

not necessarily a ski jacket, as she won't be skiing, just something well suited to a walk in the woods up in the snow.

Has the Mrs got a warm coat already ? and a jumper ? and a long sleeve top ?

Course she has ... put it together with a hat and gloves and she's done

Absolute no reason to go out and buy something special

Course ... if it was my Mrs and she has her heart set on a new coat... I wouldnt be silly enough to tell her she doesn't need a new one.... 🙂

I've got a medium Columbia Titanium for sale that my wife used during one ski holiday and it has been hanging in the wardrobe since. It is an amazing bit of kit. It has a puffa inner that can be worn on its own, you can wear the jacket on its own or wear it together (zips in). So it is a 3in1 garment.
Can't remember how much she paid but it was around £150.
Willing to sell it for £40 posted.
Can send you lots of pics if interested ( jacket , not wife!)

Just a waterproof jacket that's big enough to layer up underneath.

More important (and specific) than ski jacket are trousers (salopettes) suitable for messing about in the snow, letting you keep feet dry and warm.
