So far in December, I've ridden precisely ZERO miles, and eaten around 12 mince pies. That's not a good overall ratio.........

I've had no mince pies (bloody evil little things), apparently that breaks my ratio.

250 to 300 calories a mince pie (according to radio Scotland/Fred Macauley show this morning) so that's you needing to do 6 hours of steady moderate cycling to burn it off……or you could try and be put onto the reserve list for Strathpuffer 24hr and that'd allow you to stuff your face with as many as you like over xmas.

Your choice 😉

10 pies and 0 miles. I'm riding on Sunday so if I carry on at my current rate I could easily get to a 1 pie per 2 miles ratio.

Disastrous. I've made two batches of mince pies so far (40 in total) and they are all gone, and between being away for work and coming down with man-flu, I've done naff all riding for a couple of weeks.

I really like mince pies so started eating them in november, reckon I've had 3 dozen-ish since start of november so:

36/932=25.8mpmp not too bad then

Google says:
1 mince pie = 289 calories
25miless of cycling = 510 calories
So actually I need to increase my mince pie intake by 76% to cover this shortfall or I'll waste away.
Eating 76% of a mince pie is an impossibility so I'll double the mince pie intake and ride a bit more

WIN WIN!

75 mince pies eaten and 72 km run (there's a spreadsheet)

Plus, 19 bike rides to work and back = 150km

The running's a new thing. Guess how much weight I've gained.

thought you were one of those dismorphics who weighs 8stone-bugger-all no matter how much or little you eat/move.

<edit> kudos on the mince pie intake BTW, I am genuinely in awe
<edit2> just check the calorie estimates for running 1km, if you going for 1kmmp....
oh dear.

Estimated extra calories from mince pies: 289 * 75 = 21675
Estimated extra calories burned through running: 72 * 67 = 4824
Calorie surplus of 16851, so I should be 1872g fatter (@9calories per gram of fat).

I'm 300g heavier, but the bathroom scales say my body fat % has stayed the same 🙂

Only had one mince pie so far this Christmas but haven't cycled very far since the start of December either.

I will however be going home this evening and baking a small mountain of them, using brandy infused mincemeat, which I'll then endeavour to work my way through ove the next few days. 😀 😀 😀

I'm on eight but as a Type 1 diabetic I think there needs to be some sort of handicap system in place. I can only eat when my blood sugars are low enough. That's my story and I'm sticking to it (and avoiding ketoacidosis).
