I know someone who's going to start a lawn mowing business, obviously he needs a reliable top quality mower, but which make is the best?

I'm thinking Honda ❓

+1 for Honda. Mine seems to be made of granite. Bombproof.

Honda mowers are far too chavey.

A Ransomes is what you want. Mowers with class and history. 😉

Oh and some of them even come with Honda engines. 😆

I would say a Honda, local landscapers have Husqvarnas with Honda engines!

Here's mine:

(yes I know the lawn looks patchy. It looked considerably better after a summer of regular mowing with the Honda. Roll on Spring)

You take pictures of your mower?

Is it me or is it bigger than your fence?

Hayter with good old Briggs & Stratton engines. Easy to fix if they do go wrong.(hardly ever) To me Honda is all "plastic" "sealed units" etc. Briggs & stratton engines are like a lawnmower version of a "Harley D" engine.

Ps get one with a "split roller" on the back for proper stripes. If you get a wheel driven one like that in th photo you can easily catch the wheel over the side of a bed and make a big "blade" circle on the grass.

I've seen so mans B&S engines with rods through the side and scored bore's it's not even funny. 😉

If he's contracting he doesn't want a cylinder mower (Ransomes?). He wants a nice rotary with a roller for stripes.

KAZ do a Honda copy, all the contractors use them round 'ere' Ally deck, Nonda motah etc. Bombproof.
