Currently wide awake at 1am in a Lisbon hotel room with a song in my head that I heard two nights ago. Can't find the name of it anywhere so will ask the STW Hive!
I think its a 2013/2014 song, but am not 100% sure.
The only thing I that I can remember is the haunting electronic organ/keyboard chords played in the chorus.
Sounds a bit like Blackpool style wurlitzer but playing a 9 or so not riff that then drops an octave and repeats.

I need a name for this ear worm that has invaded my head.
😉

Could be "the look" (think that's what it's called) by metronomy

I have now listened to a few more of their tracks and fear that this might be their one hit...any other suggestions for equally enchanting music (from this or other groups in a similar style). 🙂

just listening on spotify now. Everything goes my way is OK. Will resist skipping to the tracks you suggest! Ta. [edit] oops, realised that I had already heard em both....good background music, but not memorable in the main.

Never much good at the 'if you like that you'll like this' game, and I only know Metronomy from the songs I hear on 6Music, so I'm struggling, rather.
I could recommend a whole load of recent tracks I've tagged via Shazam and BBC Playlister, and you can check them out if you like; I tend to buy a lot of individual tracks that way, only buying whole albums when certain of the consistency.
There will be quite a variation, I like quite a wide variation in styles.
Grandaddy: A.M. 180
Opeth: Cusp of Eternity
Prince Fatty Meets Nostalgia 77: Little Steps Dub
Lutine: Sallow Tree
Faith No More: Ashes To Ashes
Vashti Bunyan: Heartleap
Interpol: Tidal Wave
Damien Rice: My Favourite Faded Fantasy
Rodrigo Amarante: Mon Nom
Wooden Arms: Tide
The Drink: Microsleep
Misty Miller: Stars
Billy Bragg & Wilco: Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key
Rev Rev Rev: Catching a Buzz
Avi Buffalo: Memories Of You
Ladytron: Ghosts
SPC ECO: Fallen Stars
Syd Arthur: Autograph
Merchandise: Looking Glass Waltz
Stars: Turn It Up
Sonic Youth: Sugar Kane
Grizzly Bear: Two Weeks
Got a Girl: Everywhere I Go
The Left Banke: Walk Away Renée
Ride: Sennen
Mastodon: The Motherlode
Lia Ices: Tell Me
The Low Anthem: Charlie Darwin
Beck: Heart Is A Dream
The Caezars: She Said
Emily Capell: My Dad's A Smiths Fan
Kid Wave: All I Want
Ren Harvieu: Open Up a Your Arms
Julie Byrne: Melting Grid
PHOX: 1936
Perfumed Genius: Queen
Alt-J: Every Other Freckle
Shack: Comedy
Lily & Madeline: The Wolf Is Free
Saint Saviour: I Remember
Broncho: Class Historian
The Apples vs. Masters At Work: Killing (Sam Redmore Mix)
Ed Harcourt: Sweet Malaise ft. Ren Harvieu
Drive: Curfew (Rebel Funk Mix)
Midlake: It's Going Down
Black Gold Buffalo: Amillion
Quilt: I Sleep In Nature
Little Comets: Little Italy
Speedy Ortiz: Everything's Bigger

Linda Perhacs: The Soul Of All Natured Things
Real Estate: Talking Backwards
The War On Drugs: Red Eyes
The Saints: Know Your Product

This is what I've just listed from my BBC Playlister, I've got more on Shazam...
Should give you a few ideas to check out.
Enjoy! 😀

Saw them live about 6 months ago. More to them than that one track.
