burp- we have a clear winner.

jail ale gets it by a nose from bath ales golden hare.

no suprise that jail ale is the strongest abv and has also traveled the least distance

very much a west country feel but i'm a firm believer that beer doesn't travel that well.

Oh, I don't know, once they're sterilised and bottled (like that lot) there's not a lot of harm a trip in a lorry can do.

All perfectly good beers, but not "real ale" when out of a bottle.

bottles ? what kind of amateur do you take me for ? those pictures up there are purely for descriptive purposes. i'd actually got a keg of each in. i'd even grown a beard and put leather patches on the elbows of my jumper.

i wish it was apricot liqueur. it's actually a 47% apricot parrafin

I went to a beer tasting evening at the theatre of wine in Tuffnell Park on Thursday. Brilliant business idea, get the punters in, get them drunk and enthusiatic, send them out the door with bags of ale, (and whiskey, why not. and some sherry) substantially lighter of pocket.

Yesterday, I kicked off with these:
