MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
..the bestest one?
I've been looking at the (new) iPad(3) but I'd be willing to look at others, the Blackberry Playbook 64gb is quite the bargain but it seems as though you need a blackberry phone to actually use it for mail??
any other options? what have YOU?
I have an Asus tf201 with keyboard dock and its seems pretty good and not had any of the supposed gps trouble that some have had

Not any more. OS2 has native email (although it can't link to my work account). I'm very happy with mine. And I paid full (US) price too.
on the playbook, why can't it conect to work? how do you find it in general? is it quick? stable? what browser does it use?
Doesn't have acceptable settings for MS Office Exchange security (according to our corporate IT guys). My private email is fine, however.
Yes it's quick and stable, the browser is native and it handles BBC iPlayer Flash fantastically - as I like to show my iPad wielding friend 😉 . If you aren't into apps, it's a nice device. I use it as a mirror for work files and carry several 1000 pdf files for reference. Synching with my laptop is automatic. I also synch with iTunes for music duties.
Oh and the sound is very good. When I was away in the US last week, I listened to the Today program and it may as well have been on a radio as the sound quality was excellent.
+1 for the asus tf201 our IT guy has one and the ipad boys are green with envy. The keyboard is great if you want to mix business with pleasure. 18 hour battery is pretty great too
djaustin I'm quite tempted by the playbook, sounds like RIM are about to go belly up though 🙁
never been a fan of BB's but if it would sync to itunes and could use it to pick up & send POP/IMAP that would be good enough, I guess that it would tether to an iphone4s for mobile use??
I've had my Playbook for 2 days and I really like (I am a Blackberry fan though).
MrNutt - It tethers to my Blackberry for mobile use and assume it will do so with an iPhone but I haven't tested it!
Yes it will sync pop/imap. For really cool, I can control it remotely with my bb, including mouse and keyboard. Not tested iPhone sync, I may have. Go with my wife's.
As I said, it suits my needs. It may suit yours. It is a nice device, it is not an Apple device. And at the moment it is excellent value. I gave one away as a prize at work. The winner, who's an Apple fan, hasn't been able to wrestle it from her teenaged daughter yet!
(posted from my playbook)

I has iPad 3.
Yet to see a tablet to beat it. The range and quality of the apps easily win it (for me).

Wow really. Gosh. Cos the iPlayer site work fine on the iPad/iPhone (HTML5 video y'see) and there is a lovely iPlayer app too (and ITV, 4OD and Five apps - plus TVCatchup and all that). Maybe you should tell your friend the good news 🙂
I had a HP touchpad. Shocking. Bought an iPad 3. Does everything I would expect and the touchscreen works much better than the HP ever did.
16 Ibuprofen for 30p in Tesco.
My Mum's friends were wiffling on at her that she simply MUST get an iPad they are the best thing.
I talked her round, now she has a Samsung Galaxy Ace instead, which suits her needs and pocket.
I'd be looking at the glaxaxy, though apple did invent the world and the internet and stuff.....
The android stuff comes in much nicer prices and your not tied to itunes and apple

You were in her womb for nine months and that's how you treat her?
Shame on you 😉
I didn't advocate that particular phone, I suggested an Android phone. I thought I was going to have time to research with her but she went on a bit of a technology binge. Go mum!
