After a 11 mile run, usually do 3x10m a week off road, back in May I had pain on the lateral side of my left foot. I never turned over on it or banged it. Even though I had never had a problem like this before and despite staying off it, running wise, for the last 7 weeks it has not shown any improvement.

I have tried a course of ibruprofen and been to see a physio privately who used ultra sound, acupuncture etc and thinks it might be a nerve issue, but was unable to help that much. I have also been to see my GP who mumbled something about it might be a prob with the peroneal tendon and referred me to the NHS physio, coming up next week, and a NHS walk in centre who were not too helpful.

Soooooooo. My question is, what should be my next move? As the pain is not getting any better and I need to get it sorted as its hurting throughout the day and worse in the mornings, despite the fact I have been resting it while asleep.

For feet fans it seems to be along whatever this bit of my foot is down from behind the ankle to the base of the little toe, and sometimes on the top of the foot. Sometimes if rotating the foot it clicks round about where my finger is pointing and can sometimes relieve the pain temporarily.

It's gout. You're drinking too much.

Physio or Podiatrist. You've been to physio perhaps try a podiatrist instead.

No, definitely a paediatrician for a foot that small. It's about as long as his index finger.

Yeah Paediatrician good idea. ๐Ÿ˜†

Ibuprofen Gel direct to the site and around it will help better than pills.

A good physio will help for sure

Good R.I.C.E will help too

Probably need to look at your running shoes and maybe add some support to them.
