[Closed] What new digital camera?

Ciao all!
I've just got back from holiday in South Africa, and found that my little digital camera (Sony T9, 3x zoom, 38-c100mm lens) really wasn't that great for taking shots of lions, cheetahs, heffalumps and the like. I want to stick with an ultracompact (or at least compact), though, as while I know SLRs are definitely better for taking photos, I would rarely carry it round with me.

So can anyone give me pointers as to where I should be looking for a ultracompact with relatively wide-angle lens and an optical zoom greater than 3x? I know they're reasonably rare, but some guidance would be appreciated!
