The type used on pram wheels for example. Female part as well as male.

e.g this

Or this

Also seen it on a wind surf mast foot. Snap in spring secured. Press to realise.

What sort of size and application do you need. I use similarish stuff normally used in film / theatre lighting - such as this and this

The fitting would be called a 'spigot' but theres a pretty broad range of sizes and styles

Probably about 30 ish mm long. The problem I am try to solve is that we have child bike trailer but there is no "stroller" wheel. My idea was to buy a pram front wheel or nay small swivel wheel and fit one of those fittings to the trailer. Been stugglinh to thing what they are would be called to start looking them up.

If I could not work it out I was going to use an airline fitting.

When I hear spigot I think of drains.

About the nearest I can guess at is a shaft swivel or pin swivel, but neither are exact, as castors lock into place, but it may be a start.

That might not be a totally crazy idea. With a lot of spigot fittings the female bit is either just a tube or some sort of press-fit thingy. At least with an airline fitting you've got a threaded bit on the other end

This should get you halfway there, go find what it fits in and replicate that.

Good suggestions. They are such a common fitting they must be an off the shelve item.

Good call on the kit MLC! Would just need to work out the female connection. May even be able bodge it with an bushing an R-pin. The Mrs would of course prefer something less agricultural.
