MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I keep coming home to dug over vegetables - my radish, peas and spring onions aren't gonna last under this onslaught.
Anyway, I assumed it would be cats but no sign of cat eggs so what else would dig holes, what is it looking for and how can I bloody stop it?
baby robins?
Wild boar?
Pigeons/rabbits/baby robins? Maybe stick make a little chicken wire fence around it and see if that helps?
Edit: Beaten on the baby robin front, I owe wwaswas £5 via paypal gift.
Moles, I have a problem with them on the allotment, proper stealthy they are.
could be one of these 😀
or it's bigger cousin 😉

Badgers push up turf when they're after worms and grubs. I guess they'll dig holes too. Mice dig up bean seeds after the plants have started growing. Then blackbirds and pheasants scratch away the surface after worms.
It's a jungle out there.
Don't make them angry, they'll stalk you and wreak their revenge
Hmmm, robins sounds the best suggestion so far - we do have a few in the garden.
And pigeons and the bloody starlings that are blighting my life but I think they prefer lounging in the bloody house rather than venturing into the garden.
Gypsies?

Honeybadger?
I have an alibi!
Magpies like to pull up onions and throw them around for their own entertainment.
Foxes dug up the allotment sometimes especially if your compost smells interesting.

🙂
I need to thin the whole lot out really.
Squirrels?
Yep could be squirrels. I have a pal pulling out small oak trees from a balcony garden because of squirrels.
I bet squirrels will be harder to deter won't they...
Put thin mesh green netting over everything, this will keep the cabbage whites from laying eggs on your vegetables as well.
Raccoon, definitely a raccoon.
Hah - just got one of these....

I'm going for wabbits. Live traps is the answer here. Ensure you take bun bun a good distance to release.

How far is it from your vegetable bed to the Kitchen?
