Okay, I managed to get my hands on a Sony nw-a3000. Yes it's older but has 20GB storage, decent battery life and should sound good...

I realise the software isn't great but did wonder if there is any alternative to it?....

Anyway, what headphones should I consider? I don't want to spend too much at the moment, would £30 be enough for something decent? Is is worth looking at 2nd hand stuff?
I'd prefer over ear type.

Thanks

Thought I was the last person on the planet to have one of these. The software is poor, I'd love to know of alternatives too.

Never really spent more that a tenner of headphones. Wouldnt fancy 2nd hand.

I use jsymphonic which works through Java so should run on most platforms.

Need to get a new battery for mine actually. Twinned with some Sennheiser HD202 it sounds great.

Try these: http://www.themp3company.co.uk/index.php?id=product&product_id=1393
I use them with my iPhone, or rather the vi's with mic and remote. They're excellent, I was using them today, and I also use SuperFi5vi's and TripleFi10vi's as well. I like them a lot...

I really like the player twosheds.

The jsymphonic software looks like just the thing I'm after for it - thanks bawbag!

CountZero - do you get good bass from those little things? I'm not keen on shoving them in my ear but.....
