Had 4 pairs so far, 2 berghaus 2 merrelย  all make a noise at toe area where the goretex membrane flexes and it is rather annoying as its quite noticeable when walking.

Any recommendations for a non noisy shoe?

Or is it just me, wife says it could be my foot...ย  🤨

Wear Merrell Goretex shoes all the time, walking, at work, wherever. Can't say I've ever had a pair of squeakers.

I've recently bought a pair of Adidas Terrex goretex shoes and I've been really impressed. Comfy, supportive and actually waterpoof vs the supposed waterproof ones they replaced.

I've got these, they've been great, well made, waterproof, hard-wearing, no squeaks.

Nike Pegasus Trail GTX. Like gloves and no strange noises on my feet.

I've a number in the collection. Salewa (noisy), Terrex (narrow), Salomon. Basically they're just waterproof dog walking trainers. Favourites are some salomon XA Pros. Pull cord laces, great grips, very light, properly waterproof, nice wide last for my celtic feet & they're really robust. I've had two pairs over about 5 years. So comfy I forget to take them off and get scolded for traipsing mud into the house. Potentially go up 1/2 - 1 size.

La Sportiva Tx4 GTX - I've got the mid version and they've been excellent.

I have some On Cloud GTX trainers - sole has rubbish grip on just about every surface I've tried - can't say I can recommend them. They're also not even that soft. Thought I'd try them out of curiosity, but won't be buying any more....

I have a pair of these and they have been great. They are looking very tired now though as I've worn them pretty much every day for the last year. I shall be replacing them with exactly the same again.
