An altercation with a sheep left my parking sensor loose behind the bumper

It looks like it was always glued in place plastic to plastic

Ive tried no more nails (it’s all I had) and it’s not set and stayed watery.

Whats the best glue?

Ta

I knocked mine out with a pedal whilst loading the bike into the car. At the next service my garage glued it in place with some silicone sealant and it has stayed put since.

my missus Seat did this, the plastic bracket is slipped over the sensor, and the bracket sticks to the bumper

i got my hand up in there, took the bracket off the sensor, scraped off the original tape, cleaned the surfaces thoroughly, and fitted it back with some thickish 3M double sided tape, there's some on amazon, i think it specifically mentions automotive use. that's exactly what is used from factory as far as i could tell

It's been on a good month or so so far

Sugru should work too.

If there's no tape then the bracket is likely to have been ultrasonically welded on to the back of the bumper. Both the bracket and the bumper will be polypropylene which is very adverse to most glues.

The best DIY solution is probably the Loctite All Plastics superglue. It contains a promoter stick that you use first to excite the surface of the plastics and helps the glue stick.

If you're supergluing/epoxying it then kissing the surfaces with a propane torch helps to improve the surface energy.

Else if your holding it in from the back with a plug of sealant then it suggest roughing up the area with so.e 80 grit and using a good polymer/hybrid sealant like OB1

CT1 adhesive & sealant. Fantastic stuff, sticks everything to anything. It’s a great product to have in your toolbox.

I'd try poly Ewe-rethane

Yeah. Full force. Don't be sheepish about it.

He could pay a garage to do it but he might get fleeced.
