I need to paint our timber windows and shutters and am wondering who makes the best paint? It's an exposed location near the coast. Happy to pay a premium for a paint which will last longer.

Any suggestions? I'll be the one doing the painting.

Folk I know who make outdoor stuff swear by Sadolin. Scandanavian origin so should be well weather proof.

It all depends on what type of wood they are made from. Hardwood needs to breath, so the paint needs to be of a type especially for hardwoods.
Sikens do some great products but you must make sure that you use their primer and undercoat as it is part of a complete system.

Sadolin only do black, white or pooy brown. We are looking for a blue paint to use.

I'll need to check if the windows are hardwood but the soffit will be softwood.

Weathershield - but make sure it's the PRO system - use all parts and its guaranteed for 10yrs.
We use it on the St Pancras Hotel - trust me - they are the fussiest ****ers known to man and they are happy....
